Several things nissan did with the thermostat to just make it hard to change. Cooling fan lossen the powersteering belt and coolant pipe on top of the thermostat pipe has to come off 6mm allen wrench socket needed and the two coolant hoses with spring clamps always use new hoses and reuse the clamps. Next the location of the thermostat 4 inches deep into the timing cover watch the 12 mm nuts each have a lock and flat washer. 6mm socket head cap bolts were used for limited space. Also 300 zx cars pick up trash from the road so take the mount brackets loose on top the radatior and look in front of the condencer for paper and debris. Is it timing belt time? Any powersteering leaks? But hey I work on them every day and see everything.
