In no particular order :

KISS - The most well-marketed band of all time, and indirectly responsible for a TON of musicians playing today. Their influence is immeasurable.

The Beatles -- The classical music of our time. Everything goes back to them, and they can be heard in SO MUCH of what has been created since them.

Black Crowes -- Nobody in rock history has done quite what they do. Not even the Stones or the Faces, whom they are often (and somewhat unfairly) compared to.

Dream Theater -- Their music is very conceptual. It's almost highbrow. I don't think a lot of people can even *conceive* Dream Theater.

Rolling Stones -- They're not called "The Greatest Rock and Roll Band In The World" for nothing. They earned every bit of that title.
