Why do Christians Covert???
I was a Christian now a atheist, each time i see a religious person coming to me and saying about their religon i get irritated..
i also met a hindu friend... i never really understood what he meant.....
i dont know about islam,, but know what is happening in this world int he name of islam
but why do people want to preach their religon.. i hate this

The great commandment is to go forth into the world and preach the gospel. That is for Christians.
What is the good news? That Jesus has risen from the dead. He is our saviour. No religion has such a saving grace for fallen mankind.
But I appreciate the attitude of the three young men with Daniel - Shadrach, Meshach & Abednego who say to the King Nebuchadnezzar:"But even if He does not, we want you to know, O king, that we will not serve your gods or worship the image of gold you have set up." I wonder what strong conviction was there for them..........I do not have such strong convictions even though I too am a Christian. But not an atheist.

There's no reasoning with the religious. They have mental problems from the off.

Because they love their religion and want to share it. The bible tells us to spread the good news so it is part of the religion.

The preaching of the Good News, Christ commanded his disciples to do globally.
It has to do with "loving one's neighbor." For example if you saw that your neighbors house had caught fire would it be morally obligating to help out. If you could without harm to yourself save your neighbor's children's lives or their lives -- by warning them and by calling the fire department?
Christians are told that EVERYBODY NOT CHRISTIAN shall be killed in Armageddon -- eternal destruction! Thus preaching is an attempt to save as many as possible.
This is shown as a double edged sword, because if the Christian refuses to preach, he himself cannot be saved!
Rom 10:9that if thou shalt confess with thy mouth Jesus as Lord, and shalt believe in thine heart that God has raised him from among the dead, thou shalt be saved.
14How then shall they call upon him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe on him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without one who preaches? 15and how shall they preach unless they have been sent? (Darby)

You yourself seem to enjoy exchanging views here on Yahoo! That is all Christians are trying to do-- with the word trying to save you. Is that so objectionable?
Let's say that tomorrow was Armageddon, and you a non-Christian see all around you people dying, unbelievers all. You are already feeling poorly and ill and know that you yourself are dying --would you get really mad at your best friend if he had known this was going to happen but had not included you in his secret?

Because if you ask them why they believe that their religion is truth they will say 'because it is written in the Bible'.
Basically that means that they believe it as truth because other people say it is truth.
So the more people that believe it comforts them into thinking they are believing fact
