I always got the best dogs at the shelter, by adoption. They were all loveable and good pets.

My favorite breed is an English Bulldog. Mine is the sweetest and most intelligent dog ever! I used to want a Yorkie but then when we got Sophie everything changed. They are so loyal and comforting. Definitely a great companion.

My very favorite is the one we have now. Molly is a mixed chocolate lab and Weimeraner, and she is the most loving, intelligent dog I've known. She is mostly blind and has diabetes. We didn't know she couldn't see until the vet told us, because she memorized the house, and could see just enough to make her way around obstacles. When she hears me mixing her insulin, she goes to the place where I gave it to her the first time. She knows we give it to her on the left in the morning, and right at night, so whichever it is, she sits with that hip out and waits patiently. If she gets it wrong, I tell her and she turns around!

Airedale terriers.
They're the largest terrier. Fantastically loyal, friendly, happy & fun-loving, and protective when necessary. One of the most intelligent breeds of dog. Inquisitive and energetic. May be too big for you, but I love them to death. The type of dog you can let jump up onto your bed and read a book with.

I love pugs! They are outgoing, friendly little dogs. They are small enough to curl up on your lap, but tough enough to withstand little kids playing with them.
Pugs are also very easy to train and very intelligent. To me they have so many expression that they almost seem like a little person!

I work in rescue, so my personal favorite kind of dog is a mutt.
I do tend to go for larger dogs though, as I grew up with Rotts and GSDs.

Pugs. Every day mine does something to make me laugh.
Will always own at least one pug.
I also love bealges (despite the howling).
That is what I have now. A pug and a beagle, very cute together.
