It will take you max.2 years if you study it 1-4 hours a day in continuation. Spanish syntax doesn´t have a major difference to English one. If you would start learning Japanese for instance which has a crucially different syntax you would need much longer. Spanish and English both have a lot of latin origin words (like Location and Localidad; Creation and Creacion; Pressure and Presion etc.) so you´ll memorize them very fast.
