but now i am confused. I have been reading the bible and i found out that the jewish people wrote it and that some of the stories may not be true and that they are just examples of Gods rules and what will happen if they are not followed. But i feel like i cant connect with God if i dont know what truly happened. Are any of the stories in the Bible true? Is there anything to prove that they are? Should i just believe that the stories are true so that i can trust in God.

Honestly. how did people know what to write if no one was there when God created the Earth?

Did Jesus write part of the Bible?

Nowhere in the Bible is it stated the earth is 6000 years old.

Many take a verse out of the New testament that is about God and what time is in God's perspective and apply it to the Time Periods of Creation called days.

Big Big error.

The information in the bible is true. There is a lot of confusion in what certain things mean.

Just ask a question here and if there is someone that knows you will get a good answer.
You will get a bunch of garbage too sometimes.

Faith is a funny thing. If you are new into faith and you are just learning about it, then you will be confused. I have a slighter different approach. I look at the bible kind of like my childhood. I can't remember when I was 2 or 3, but I am here therefore I must have been that age. When my mom, sisters and Father tell me about when I was that age, and I hear different stories of the same event, then I can kind of figure out what happened. The perfect example for this are the first 4 books of the new testament. Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John where not the apostles. Thos books were written after all of the disciples deaths. It covered the same event but through different eyes. One writer wrote like he was a newspaper man, and another wrote like he has a story teller, and although the scribes never met each other, they wrote pretty much the same things about the same events.

There were other people who attempted to write the gospels and really got the information wrong. Please remember that during this time about 98% of the population DID NOT READ! The way they got their history was by word of mouth and story telling, kind of like T.V. today.

Something's are to be believed without question, like Creation. Adam and Eve, Noah, Moses and Christ. Some people believe that Noah's boat is still shipwrecked on a mountain. I personally believe in the Shroud.

Faith is all about accepting what you know as truth, without proof. Do you believe in oxygen? How you can't see it? You can't put it under the microscope? I believe in oxygen because without it I can't breathe. I believe in the teachings of the Bible and in God because without it, my spirit is black.

There was a time in my life where I excluded God from it. That is what I call my bottle years.
I drank away my faith and relied on myself. Let's just say that it didn't work out that well.

Start slow and ask questions. Email me personally and I can give your names of books to read to help.

Most of the Bible comes from stories handed down over generations ....books like john, paul ect were not written by them but by people much later with retold stories they believed. It should really say the book according to john, according to so and so from strories handed down for 3 generations. Naturally some things probably are true, some exagerated, some not true at all or meant to make a point not taken literally, some things mistranslated, ect. I know a LOT of christians would say thats not true because it was inspired by God but it is true. If you want proof positive of God or proof positive there is'nt one you wont find it. It's impossible to prove or disprove..... thats why it's called faith. I don't think "just believing" is the answer. Realising that it doesnt really matter if someone was actually in a big fish for 3 days or not might be. My point is that it's ok to accept Jesus and God and still not believe every detail of the bible. It talks about 12 tribes of 12,000 each ..... does it really matter if it was 10 tribes of 12,000 and 2 of 11,999 ? The idea that if one thing in the bible is proved wrong the whole thing is wrong makes as little sence as saying if one thing is proven right everything else must be right also. My point is the "stories" are not as important as the concept .... you either accept Jesus or you don't. You either accept the rules or you don't. The bible is pretty clear about the overall message and concept the other nit picky stuff people and churches disagree about is not all that important except for new age churches the bible even speaks of that want to find rationalisations to condone sin in the name of God .... nothing all that new the KKK calls itself christian, Hitlor thought he was a christian.ect.

Hey, I can only believe that ALL the stories are true. It says in the Bible that "all scripture is God-breathed" ie. he told people (in I guess, many different ways) what to write, so who wrote it doesn't really matter. What matters is that each story, shows how from the begining of time, God has been there with his people, guiding them. The Bible is one big story in a way... God made it perfect, humans screwed it up, God gave us the chance to come back to him and have it all perfect again (he did this through Jesus) and the story will end when Jesus comes back. In some ways, the stories (real or not) don't really matter. Look past the stories and focus on an amazing God as his charcter of love unfolds before you! It's hard yes, but it's just a matter of faith. God bless. x

The Bible is 100% true. Jesus was a Jew. First, He offered the Jewish people salvation through Himself to God, but they rejected Him. So, then Jesus went to the Gentiles and offered salvation through Himself and many accepted Him.

When Jesus died on the cross, His blood washed away the sins of all who accept Him. He rose from the dead and ascended into heaven. He is sitting at the right hand of God right now, waiting for you to accept Him and follow Him. Jesus is there for anyone who will follow Him.

Read the book of John in the Bible. Until you are saved, you will not understand the Bible.

I understand your confusion. I do not argue about the Bible. I do, however, have faith. Faith is beleiving in something not seen. I believe in God & I believe the verse John 3:16: For God so loved the World that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believeth in him shall not perish but have ever lasting life.

I think you need to speek with a preacher & let him know your concerns. He will be able to explain it to you. Any athiest out there will tell you that the Bible is a lie. I take the Bible as God's word & live by it because I have Faith.

Good luck :)

Yes you are confused, but do not worry. There are a lot of people who are Christians in name only that are just as confused as you are. You are new in Christ I assume and are in the Milk Stage of the the Word, but the Meat, the more deeper understanding will come later. Paul said it best when he said, "when I was a child I played with childish things" (paraphrased) PLEASE be careful what you are told and taught in this stage of your life as you will be LED wrong by many who do not know the Scriptures them self. EVERY WORD of Scripture IS TRUE, BUT you have to know the CORRECT WAY to read them. PLEASE email me for more help. I do not know everything in the Word of God and do not claim to, BUT I have studied for years with the Original Languages that the Bible is Translated from. get a Strong's Concordance to help you read the Word and it will be a great help to you for understanding. Anyone can tell you anything now as you are a New Christian, including me, BUT CHECK out what I have said WITH the Word of God to see that I am telling you the Truth. I want NO CREDIT for myself, I give it ALL to Christ, the Holy Son of God. I am nothing but a mere man, and do not deserve even to say His Holy Name, BUT He has been and still is MY SAVIOR. Once again, BE CAREFUL as there is a LOT of Spiritual Ignorance in the world today, and especially in todays Churches with so called Ministers who are Spiritually Ignorant themself and do not belong behind a Pulpit. God has said, "Judgment BEGINS at the House of the Lord". (paraphased)

Hi Jessi, firstly the Bible is true, what you have to think about is how a people who did not know God came to hadle the revelations that God sent to them, of course much of the Old Testament is the every day living of hebrew nation reacting to Gods word through the Prophets and the many times they failed and did the wrong thing.
What is really important for us is that at the beginning of the Old Testament we learn the bad news in Genesis of the fall of humanity and Gods promise to send a Savior, we trace this Savior right through the Old Testament until He reveals Himself in and through the Good news of the Gospels, and fulfills the promise on Calvary and the resurrection.

The Bible is 100% true and I believe it with all my heart. Just trust in God, seek and you shall find, look for him, speak to him like you would your best friend. If you keep praying and reading it won't be long until you feel God's presence. Trust in Him!!!!!
