i have been trying to get on the astral plane. any tips on how to do this or is it because i am not part of a covern?

Try looking into directed dreaming. Astral projection is supposed to be least risky when done while asleep and under whatever protection your spiritual protector offers. Before you try, ground yourself (reiki style maybe) and appeal for protection
Good luck connecting with people, because that's what spirituality is about.
I don't try to obtain a connection as defined as astral projection is. Instead I practice internal and external energy flow, and frequently this does give me the feeling of connection and interplay I am after. You might want to try this first, since it may well be a prerequisite anyway.

Getting on the Astral Plan will be the best move you made. Some people are on health insurance plans, others stock plans, or some just have foolproof plans (so they think), but planning to get Astral is the best plan. The astral plane is the next step in a being's growth, after they have learned their lessons here on the material plane. The best way is to find people who are already in touch with the astral plane to some degree (some gurus and spiritual teachers). Realizing that you go to the astral plane in your dreams is another. Try to realize you are dreaming in the middle of a dream and see how much realer that dream becomes.

I am also a solitary/hedgewitch. Being part of a coven is nothing to do with it!

It is tough, but easier then you think. You acn through meditation. And you do through sleep.
But in rare cases you could go into the astral plane in meditation and not come out. So be careful.
You dont need to be in a coven to do it.
I am not in a coven anymore and I could go outside, listen to the morning sounds sit on a blanket and meditation for however long I want.
Oh crap gatta cut this one short gatta wake my sister up so she can get her son ready for school!!

I belive that some religions and practices that the state of orgasm is the only way to rise to the astral plane. where dom you live Id love to come round and help you out ..
