because you can't give directions to something that does not exist.

Simple answer, we don't know, the Bible doesn't mention their locations, only their existence, for some reason God never told anyone where they were. Perhaps because other than dying there's no way for humans to get to either. The usual guess is that they are in different dimensions.
Since you've asked a question that cannot be answered, here's a couple of simple questions that you can't answer.
What's the exact time and date of the origin of life on Earth?
What was the name of the first sentient being on Earth?

You are wrong. Christians can answer complicated and simple questions.
1. Where is heaven?
Heaven is unlikely to be in the sky. Heaven is out the universe. Somebody might say, "I thought the universe it the largest thing ever!" Well, Heaven is an "untravelable" galaxy unless you are a dead Christian. There are also some who say that the world is Heaven and that (I sorta believe this) the current world is Heaven.
2. Where is hell?
Hell is in the bottom of the "untravelable" galaxy. It's so simple! Why don't you get it? Hell is where Satan, devils, and non-Christians or fake Christians "burn". In Hell, bad things keep happening to you but you will never die there.

Looking at the answers to your question, I begin to think you are right and christians can't answer a simple question.
But I can.
Heaven is where you would like to be and hell is where you wouldn't like to be. They are in places not governed by the laws of time and space, but neither are places to be frightened off. They are places to be wondered at and respected. If we only respect the known and not the unknown then we are 'puffing ourselves up', just like millions of years ago when the jellyfish got all puffed up because they thought they were the kings of the universe.

Very simple. Heaven is where God IS. Remember the Prayer, "Thy Kingdom come" (edited) and Hell HAS NOT been Created YET as that will not happen until the Day of Judgment IS OVER.

hell comes from the greek word hades and the hebrew word sheol.both refer to the common grave of mankind, not afirey place of torment like many religions would have us believe.so its just the common grave where we all end up asleep in death.

Heaven and hell are more like states, with or without God (love). But they are places too since they will contain resurrected bodies, where they are located we don't know.

I haven't been there yet, can't give you exact directions but when you die you will find out...
Right now I can only assure you that they both exist...
