You can receive a free Bible and request one at www.watchtoer.ORG...and also a free home Bible study if you would like. I am one of Jehovah's Witnesses and the work that we do is free of charge, as well as our literature. Our work is supported by voluntary donations. You can also visit a local Kingdom hall in your area or call to get a Bible and request a study...you can look up the nearest Kingdom hall in your area by looking it up in a phone book under the heading church(even though we are not a church...we are a kingdom hall...that is our place of worship)...we are located in over 200 lands...so wherever you go...somebody should be familiar with a JW. If you have any more questions feel free to contact me...but check out the website...

If you go to any church and say you are looking to start a Bible study, but do not have a Bible, I am sure they will set you up with both. There are a few missionary type religions like Jehovahs Witnesses and Mormons who gladly give out free books and home study. Also, the Gideons give free Bibles, they are the ones who leave them in hotel rooms for travelers.
My best advice is to go to a church you feel most comfortable in, maybe go to a few in your community over the next few weeks, find one that you like the people in, and ask them to help you. Lots of people have multiple Bibles, and would be happy to give you one.
Also, you may check at a local thrift store and see if there are any. Many of those are run by church based groups, and they would be able to help you.
May you find the peace you seek and deserve!
If you can't find one, just send me a note and I will send you one of mine.

A church that is a Bible church or a Baptist church. Just make sure it is a Holy Bible (KJV) 1611, except a study Bible will not say 1611. If you lived by me I would give you one for free. If you can't find one at a church, try a thrift store in the book section. They always have them and most book stores sell them too.

A study bible for study, huh? Sorry couldn't resist! But seriously, I'm not religious but I'd imagine if you contacted some church groups one of them would give you one.

Write a letter to TBN (Trinity Broadcasting Network), or the Church of Mormans. Both will provide you with a free bible.

you'll have to choose a religion first.
many religions use the KJV, but, when it comes to study, they all want to emphasis how correct their religion is, and how wrong everyone else's religion is.
Every christian religion would put a different spin on what is noteworthy, and what you can ignore.
an anglican study guide would be VERY different to an RC study guide. a Mormon version of the KJV comes with footnotes emphasising Mormon doctrines.

Any hotel room, lol! Seriously, there's bound to be some organization somewhere giving them away. Check the internet, or call your local church and ask if they know. You could always pray for one, as well!
