Girls say these two lines for one of two reasons.
#1 She honestly isn't ready for a relationship right now. She honestly wants you in her life as a friend.
#2 She isn't interested in you specifically, but because of your past history together, she doesn't want to hurt your feelings by saying this directly. Girls are taught to spare other people's feelings even at our own expense. So we commonly find nice, polite ways of saying something that might hurt someone.
Your key to understanding if it's reason #1 or #2 is this question:
Why, after 2 whole years (long time!!!), did you guys suddenly started talking again? Was it you or her who initiated the contact? What have you been talking about lately? Is it *she* who calls you or asks you to meet or is it *you* keeping up contact?
If the answer to these questions is *you*, then forget the girl and move on. She might not even really want you in her life as a friend, she's just being polite.
However, if it is *she* who is keeping up contact with you, then it's probably #1. She wants you in her life as a friend, but for some reason cannot handle a relationship with you right now. There could be many reasons for this and if you stay friends, continue supporting her and building trust, who know, your friendship might blossom to something more in the future.

She Doesnt Want To Really Settle Down With Anyone In Particular Cuz She Wants To Explore With No Strings Attached. She Doesnt Want To Be Consistent With Just One. And Probably She Still Remembers That Time Ya'll Fought And Doesnt Want You To Forget About It By Hurting You More. She Also Probably Wants To See You Crawl Back To Her And Beg Her Back As Well.

She is telling you very straight forwardly that she does not want to get into a relationship with you because she does not like you!! Maybe you could have a nice talk with her to sort things out and not have a misunderstanding!

She is going to have to learn to trust you again. Two years is a long time and I think that maybe you are just going to have to be happy being a friend for now. When she is ready she will let you know.

I think that she's really trying to say I'm hurt and scared and want to take things slow. Give her space to think this threw and if it takes to long then move on.

if she's being honest, then she doesn't think she's in a good place in her life to be in a relationship, but there is the possiblity that she's blowing you off and just doesn't want a relationship with YOU.
