find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have lean meat (protein) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min, light weight training
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, past etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)

bunch of questions right back at ya...
How much are you overweight? How confident are you that you currently have the right combo of calories needed versus calories taken? How active are you? Do you want to loose fat, or do you want to loose weight?
There is no stand alone magic trick here; you need to combine diet and exercise and lifestyle. By going low cal no carbs, you starve your body, you don't always burn fat. You would lose muscle mass though.
Plus your metabolism will shut down. And this is key to burning fat. Rather than going no carb, consider doing a cycling diet with low carb day and 'regular' carb days. Combine this with exercise. Get a heart rate monitor and work out to 65% of your max heart rate. Note how many calories you lose during that time = verify that you are actually eating in relation to your activity. Switch to 6 smaller meals, spread throughout the day. Drink water like you're a fish.
If you want to keep your muscle; consider a higher intake of lean proteins, and doing mid-weight high rep weight training. And half hour cardio right after.
It's hard work, sure. But then you know you earned it ;-)
you either don't lose weight because you are not overweight, or you are not doing enough to be successful.
Good luck

Drink protein shakes twice a day...but stop the no carbs thing cause once you get down to the weight you want and you start having carbs again you will gain it all back....maybe even twice as much...i know many people who have.
Just watch what you eat and get at least 45 minutes of cardio a day. If you can workout twice a day. I lost 20 pounds over 2 months doing that but you being a guy would lose more.
