I don't and you're right, go to any social service center and you'll see a lot of nice cars driven by nicely dressed people.
Disgusting.

Regardless of how many American citizens are on welfare...is a totally different matter. Yes, there are those that shouldn't be....but

An illegal alien is a totally different matter. They are NOT a citizen and have NO RIGHTS as a citizen in this country. If only one illegal alien was drawing any type of monetary assistance from the government, that's one too many.

Those trying to change the subject and point fingers...it's not gonna work!!

P.S. xcongoneout...there is no distinction made between "immigrants" and "illegal aliens" by this Luis Gutierrez whoever he is. Yes legal immigrants pay taxes...so what?? That's not what this is about.

This is about ILLEGAL ALIENS many of whom work UNDER THE TABLE thereby paying no taxes. You CANNOT group legal immigrants and illegal aliens together.

The main point is that illegal immigrants definitely shouldn't receive welfare under any circumstances. Its bad enough when we permit our own citizens to take money from those who actually work for a living, but to permit people to cross the border illegally and take welfare is as bad an insult to the American taxpayer as the mess in Iraq.

We should probably get rid of welfare entirely. Its not that hard to get a job and work for a living when McDonald's is always hiring.

I believe we should revise our immigration laws to make it easier for people to come here and work for a living. At the same time, we should stop subsidizing American farmers so that they can bankrupt Mexican farmers by flooding Mexico with extremely cheap food. We should also get rid of NAFTA, which is a trade cartel falsely advertised as free trade (you don't need a treaty for free trade, all you need is for governments to keep out of what doesn't concern them). It would help to also shut down the IMF and World Bank, which are perpetuating poverty in the 3rd World (that's one of the few things Hugo Chavez actually gets right; he has a strong misunderstanding of what Capitalism is) by looting the taxpayers everywhere in the world.

Alot of the problems in Latin America (well, actually all over the world) have been caused by bad policies by the government in Washington. Among the worst of those policies is the foreign aid program, which strengthens governments. Government spending always results in a net loss of wealth. That's why you end up making things worse whenever you give money voluntarily to a government. Of course, that's if some corrupt bureaucrat doesn't run off with the money.

We need to actually look for the causes of our problems and work to fix them, rather than just treating symptoms and waiting for the actual disease to kill us.

As far as income tax payments go, sources vary in their accounts, but a range of studies find that immigrants pay between $90 billion and $140 billion in Federal, State, and local taxes.
Luis Gutierrez

Because the truth is, today's immigrants, as they have for generation after generation, work the longest hours at the hardest jobs for the lowest pay, jobs that are just about impossible to fill.
Luis Gutierrez

I think, Tucker, you and I both know that we have tens of thousands of permanent residents serving in our armed forces.
Luis Gutierrez

I would just like to have one day where instead of seeing people cross the border over fences and through the rivers and through the deserts, we could see them picking oranges and picking the apples in Washington state, and our grapes in California. Seeing them do all of the hard work.
Luis Gutierrez

It is not better for America to do nothing about an immigration system that hurts families, hampers businesses, and harms communities.
Luis Gutierrez

It is not new or unusual for the real Americans, meaning those immigrants who came to America a little bit longer ago, to fear the outsiders, the pretenders, the newcomers.

I remember reading a month or two ago that Colorado ( not a border state ) had over 50 thousand illegals on assisted housing ( housing welfare ) and they were making a law requring anyone renting a property that was federally assisted to background check the people they were going to rent to.
Now if you don't know what assisted housing is its where taxpayer dollars pay either all or part of your rent because you are poor.

So i dont know about food stamps. But there are are many kinds of social programs where people receive tax payer paid assistance for something or the other. Which is welfare of course of one kind or another.

Now if Colorado has that problem then how many more are in California, Arizona, Texas and of course everywhere else.

i think Mexicans work for there money for the most part but i believe that they make it harder on others when they take a job that should pay 20 an hour and work it for 10 then that puts everybody else in a bind so if any thing the Mexican community is pushing everybody else to the welfare line

Unlawful Entry is a CRIME. Zero tolerance for immigration-law violators! No amnesty, no "stealth-amnesty." No "change of status," marriage fraud, "exceptional leave to remain," no "Temporary Protected Status." If you break the law, depart or be deported. Illegal aliens kill more US citizens each year than the war in Iraq has killed in four years. Apologists for illegal immigration like to paint it as a victimless crime. But in fact, illegal immigration causes substantial harm to American citizens and legal immigrants, particularly those in the most vulnerable sectors of our population--the poor, minorities, and children. Additionally, job competition by waves of illegal immigrants willing to work at substandard wages and working conditions depresses the wages of American workers, hitting hardest at minority workers and those without high school degrees. Illegal immigration also contributes to the dramatic population growth overwhelming communities across America--crowding school classrooms, consuming already limited affordable housing, and straining precious natural resources like water, energy, and forestland. Taxpayers are being forced to pay for the free health care, education, and other welfare programs being given to illegal aliens; Those tax dollars could be given back to U.S. taxpayers or used to keep our borders secure; They may be here illegally, but they sure know how to "work the system" to collect "free" medical care, "free" education, "free" food, Section 8 housing vouchers and other housing assistance, and hundreds of other social services. It costs citizens additional hundreds of billions of tax dollars at every level: local, state, and federal. It gobbles up billions of our charitable contributions. And much of that money ends up siphoned out of our economy and into offshore accounts. Illegal aliens, over half of whom work "under the table" with neither job nor income reported (nor taxed), are not counted as employed or unemployed. But some of those day-labor and off-the-books "job-lets" would be "real" jobs - available to American citizen job-seekers - if employment regulations were enforced. Illegal aliens can get away with tax evasion, et al., which citizens cannot. In short, we have too many workforce entrants and too few jobs created. The ratio works out to roughly 7-10 workforce entrants per job created. If all illegal aliens depart or are deported, all legal immigration halted, and all temporary employment visas abolished, we still have a problem with more US-born workforce entrants than new jobs created. Illegal immigration damages our country and our citizens every day at every level. And not even the attacks of 2/26 and 9/11 have awakened many Americans to the vast dangers illegal immigration poses to our selves, our families, our communities, our society, our values, our principles, our civilization. Zero Tolerance for Immigration-Law Violators! We must remember the lessons of 2/26, 9/11, and the costs we bear every single day. God Bless the U S A !

I don’t blame them for welfare, I blame them for taking over jobs that native born Americans supposedly doesn’t want (actually they want to work in those hard sweaty jobs but not for less than minimum wage the crooked American companies and employers are paying the Mexicans Indios for.) I also blame them for committing a lot of crimes, starting up in gangs, raping women and children, and killing people.
When I was a kid, buying comic books at a comic book store, I left my $500 bike outside the comic book store unchained. (I know stupid). I found out that from a businessman from a nearby business that some Mexican Indios stole my bike in their garbage truck you see driving around people's neighborhoods. He got the license plate, I reported to the police, but the bike couldn’t be recovered. My uncle’s mercedes car was smashed up during traffic by a debris garbage that you see the Mexican Indios are hauling in their garbage pickup trucks. Guess what, the Mexican Indio truck driver didn’t have auto insurance. He was also driving Illegally without a license. They came here in peace? I don’t think so.

I also blame the European Mexicans (called Criollos) for encouraging the Mexican Indios to mass immigrate to the US because the Southwest supposedly originally belonged to Mexico. They say that this is “Reconquista part 2” (which real white Spaniards from Spain take offense to that term).
The Southwest does not belong to them. It originally belonged to the Southwest Native American Indians of the US Nations like my Navajo friends, the Apache Nations, the Commanche Nations, the Lakota Nations, the Hopi Nations, etc. There was never an Aztlan, Mecha, Aztec Nation, Maya Nation, Zapotec Nation, Chicanos, Vatos, Homies, etc among the US Native American nations.
Mexico's last Mexican President Vicente Fox said that “Mexican (Indios) do jobs that black Americans are too lazy to do.” He’s only showing his criollo roots when he said that. If the Mexican (Indios) want to blame people, they should blame the elite wealthy European Mexicans (called Criollos) that are taking over their country. Mexico is more racist than the U.S. Mexico along with the rest of Latin America have a racial caste system down there. The European Mexicans down there want to make Mexico look like a white Latin American country like Argentina and pre-Castro Cuba by dumping the Mexican Indios on the US.
