There are those who will always believe there is a right and a wrong, a black and a white and no grey area. I'm with you ... to each his own. I happen to believe there is value in all belief systems and all nurture each individual for their place in time. Eventually we will all be led in the same direction and it will bring us home.

your title: both are active and living in today's society.
Q to atheists and Christians: I'm sure we can both agree that your statement is true. A person chooses to believe. That decision is theirs and theirs alone. Whatever decision said person makes will ultimately define not only their entire life, but their ultimate destiny (which I deem "the after life"). I also agree that petty spats do nothing to further one's sway in either direction. Sometimes deep arguments carry some weight, but don't usually if ever determine that someone will suddenly "snap out of it" and convert. What I don't agree though is that both stances can be co-existing as correct. Then you would be called a universalist believing that all will end up in some form of paradise, but universalists believe in nothing bc/ to believe in everything is to make it nothing. The solution is to believe what you believe and know why you believe it and if you want to tell people than GREAT! but you should be respectful and then in the end when one or the other is right/wrong you won't even worry about saying I told you so bc/ just the fact that you were right will make it all so much sweeter.

I have no difficulty with anyone believing what that do. By the way - this is because we cannot choose our beliefs - we can choose how we express them.

What I do have issue with is some (repeat some) religious groups trying to FORCE others to believe the same as them.

In the UK, some are taking over schools and spreading, under the mask of education, their nonsense. This is dangerous.

All education MUST be based of facts not beliefs.

1. Spell-Check.
2. Sentence "structure".
3. New Concept! ... Paragraphs!

I think I don't have an issue with what I think you're trying to say. But I let "his or hers own decision in the formation of thier destiny or faith," rule. However, I defend the truth! ... The truth must be defended. And, *Yes,* one side is WRONG! Science has mounds of evidence saying which side.

The "Solution" is completely different for every person in the world - it is whatever set of beliefs that best serve your current perspective on life.

Religion (whichever one you choose to follow) provides yuo with a set of moral ideas (or rules) to follow in order to make you a better person - and those who don't follow a set religion use their own judgement and experiences to guide them through the world.

Ideally, there shouldn't be any hate mixed in with these beliefs - but after all, we are all human...

Christianity is a religion of love and tolerance, science is an open minded search for understanding that pushes out the boundaries and limits we have of knowledge. Both should therefore respect and appreciate everyone, Christian's in their practice of love and tolerance and science in their knowledge that they still have alto to learn. The problem is many represent themselves with religion and science but don't know alto about either. They make assumptions about religion and assumptions about science what ever camp their in.

"Does one of us have to be wrong"

No, it's just possible that both sides are wrong.
Tricky, but some forms of pantheism and existence-as-illusion would be sufficiently alien from both classic Christian and atheist thought to alllow this.

But there's no room for everyone to be right. Or for each personal belief to determine reality.
(reincarnation *only* for Hindus and some Buddhists?
Hell only for people who believed in it *and* rejected faith in Jesus?)
God cannot exist and not-exist at the same time. There is, then, a basic question of truth.

No. Reasons for tolerance and civilised conversation and interaction are there, but they are not based on the concept you propound.

most people can't grasp the concept that truth is a relative concept. your truth and my truth are both true. because we believe they are. even if they are in direct conflict. if there is such a thing as a Truth, with a capital T, we'll never know it on this earth. so chill, everyone.

the reason i try to love everyone is because Jesus showed me love when i did not deserve it and still don't.I did nothing.Jesus is the one who saved me.So I try to show everyone that Jesus loves them. But I will not pressure anyone for who they are what they say or how they believe.I explain it like this.If you found the best tasting food that you ever ate wouldn't you want to tell someone or would you be selfish and keep it a secret
