That's the way our country was founded and this is what the 9th state, NH, Constitution says:
Art.] 10. [Right of Revolution.] Government being instituted for the common benefit, protection, and security, of the whole community, and not for the private interest or emolument of any one man, family, or class of men; therefore, whenever the ends of government are perverted, and public liberty manifestly endangered, and all other means of redress are ineffectual, the people may, and of right ought to reform the old, or establish a new government. The doctrine of nonresistance against arbitrary power, and oppression, is absurd, slavish, and destructive of the good and happiness of mankind.

The issue you encounter, however, is a resistance, the loyalists if you will to the existing government. Let's say a group of hippies from Berkley tried to go and storm the white house now... it would be seen as terrorism, because the normal citizen may act unhappy, but honestly, their lives are fine, attacking the white house wouldn't benefit them in the least. So the majority of American citizens wouldn't back an armed coup of the government...

However, this situation could be changed if a powerful military figure were to work the system, having control of so many people, and most military are trained to follow orders, all it would take is a select group of highly trained, dedicated members to do such a thing...

In Machiavelli's "The Prince" he advocates change of government, and by means of killing the existing power, this however, becomes exceedingly difficult in a democracy from the way we all feel so powerful and in charge..

More than likely, anyone who tried such a thing would be executed for treason.

However, the US is founded on morals of questioning the government, but unfortunately, despite what most Bush-Bashers are saying... he really isn't that bad of a leader, all things considered. We have a wonderful balance of power in this nation, and that actually comes out to fall directly on the shoulders of the citizens through means of the second amendment. The president, the house, and the judicial system all intertwine, but we control all of them by our rights to own firearms, and if need be, take them up and fight an unfair system.

But that isn't the case these days, sorry. Go listen to Green Day and cry.

The military and secret service's first loyalty is to the United States of America and the President ie Commander in Chief.

Their job would be to put down any revolution or milita forces that rose up against the United States or the President.

The chances that such forces could remove the most powerful man in the world from power is highly unlikely. Guerrilla warfare would have to reach such a critical mass as to wreck utter chaos throughout the entire country. We're talking true anarchy.

It is possible, but it is extremely unlikely. Even with support from revolutionaries inside the military.

First , you need to know that this kind of discussion can get you arrested for teason if Big Brother takes you as a serious threat. Let it be known that my response is strictly my opinion on your hypothetical question. With that said.....

There's not enough time in King George's regime for a Third World type overhaul of the system. By the time Jan 20th 2008 gets here, and another political puppet takes office, the troops will be returning home en mass, profits of war will be secured in the world bank, and the public "War" will be over. The issue for the next 4 years will focus on screwing the newly of created disabled veterans, disguised as budget issues and where the govt can tighten it's belt to buy votes in the 2111 election. "Meet the new boss, same as the old boss".

A number of US Generals have already considered this possibility! Has anyone noticed that a lot of generals are being asked to resign now? In fact this happens much more often than they ever want the public to be aware of! If the public only knew just how many 4 and five stars have stepped over the line, they would be terrified!

nicely, you have have been given to look on the element that the government can particularly plenty take out a usa in the event that they damned sense like it (we're not employing nukes, yet by using god can we've them) the possibility of a protection stress revolt would be rather impossible until you quite have the numbers on your facet. additionally, the government can't only gun down a crowd of protesters, the main violent they'd get is gassing them and if a crowd become arranged with gas mask i'd be extremely curious interior the top result. because of the fact what extra can the government do then that with out seeming morally inept?

I don't think that enough people would support such a thing. I know what your frustration is though. It's like our votes aren't even mattering because even though we did put in a Democratic congress, there are people in our government that aren't listening to the American people, and there is really nothing the average citizen can do.

Wouldn't it make more sense to just vote, and vote intelligently? Volunteer at your local Democratic Headquarters. They need your help. Why re-invent the wheel when there are hardworking young people busting their tails trying to save this country who are already organized and working sensibly within the system? Join them. Be one of the GOOD GUYS. Be a hero, not a moron.

An IQ test would be enough to overthrow Bush from presidency. In fact I think for now on all presidential candidates should meet a certain IQ test requirement before they can be considered possible candidates.
