No, I don't think this is a good theory. No disrespect! I wondered a lot about this when I became a christian, but it all comes down to two things: 1) God doesn't lie. 2) God said he made this Creation....including space in six days. If He meant millions of years, He would've said it. God is specific in the things He says...
If you want a credible, wonderful resource on Creation and whether or not it's a young earth or an old earth, where the dinosaurs went, etc, check out Dr. Kent E. Hovind.
The stuff he says on his DVD's will blow your mind. They will radically alter what you've thought... and the good news is, what he teaches MAKES SENSE, and closes the gaps from public school education and our faith. He also gives evidence and SHOWS proof. Trust me, you won't be disappointed. I have the whole series, and they are awesome.

The prevailing theory at present is that the chicxulub impact at the end of the Cretaceous period was responsible. Such an impact would have thrown up massive amounts of dust, causing sunlight to be blocked out which in turn would have halted photosynthesis in plants and caused the food chain to collapse. It's still slightly open to interpretation as to how much of the extinction should be "credited" to the meteorite impact, it certainly was big (as evidenced by the size of the crater) and at the right time (there is a largely continuous layer of iridium from the impact which covers the earth and is dated at the right time). What I expect you are referring to is the Deccan traps. The Deccan traps are a massive area of flood basalts in India which were actively erupting towards the end of the Cretaceous. Such an event would have pumped huge amounts of particulates into the atmosphere, causing extinction by very much the same mechanism as a meteorite impact. I personally find this to be a more plausible explanation (although you should read more about it and come to your own opinion) as a primary cause that a one off meteorite impact as it is active for a much longer period of time and would have expelled more material. It is also a mechanism which is thought to have cause another mass extinction before then (Siberian trap emplacement is thought to have caused the Permo-triassic mass extinction). The meteorite probably finished the dinosaurs off but I think they were on the way out anyway. So yes, volcanoes did kill dinosaurs. They might not have killed all of them and even in the event that they were not the primary cause of the K-T mass extinction they would have still contributed. Below I've posted a link which explains how each theory works. This one is biased towards the Deccan trap theory so you might want to find one on the other side.

This is truly phenomenal! There is a paleontologist named Mary Schweitzer with the Univeristy of North Carolina. They'd found a dinosaur believed to be female. Upon investigation, the dinosaur was female and pregnant at the time of her demise. Mary was examining portions of the dinosaur and became confused at something she saw. So, she went to the Nation's largest vet conference and she was told that her tissue sample had blood platelets in it. Now, if something is petrified, there would be no blood tissue left at all. This blood tissue could not have withstood billions of years of the pretrification process. Now, we have a problem. Could our carbon dating system be wrong? Could our planet be younger than we say it is? God is so full of marvelous mysteries! Your theory has much merit based on this neat discovery.

Well, there's recorded history, that goes back a few thousand years. And then there's a history we learn from science that tells us that the universe has been around for billions of years. Have you ever heard of the saying that says," A thousand years for humans is equal to one day for God?" So, with that in mind, you could make the theory of just adding a bunch of zeros to recorded history's concept of time. In other words, for 6000 or so years of human history, 1 year represents 1,000,000 years of God or God's time. That means that the 6000 years of man's history reflects the 6 billion or so years of God. This is not claiming that these numbers are accurate, it's just giving a model to work with.
Now, science tells us that humans have been around for a few million years on this planet, as far as we can tell. In those few million years, it seems possible that there have been other advanced civilizations before us, before the ice age, and maybe even before that. It seems we humans go from cataclysm to cataclysm. Never being completely destroyed, but at the same time, and as far as we know here on earth, never mastering our universe. God, I hope we get it right soon!!!!!!
Now as far as your theory, I think you could be on to something. I consider myself a Christian, but to make your theory work, I have to stretch my beliefs to include my "interfaith studies" and appreciation of other religions, specifically, the Indian religions of Hinduism and Buddhism and those religions' concept of reincarnation. Under that teaching, Adam and Eve could have indeed been reincarnated over whatever time necessary to correspond with the accuracy needed for our contemporary world to deem it "the truth" of the matter. The other points of your theory could then be tested and then fall into place.
Eventually, it seems, religion and science could be reconciled to each other. God bless the day when that happens!!!!!!!
Thanks for a fascinating, albeit silly, question, as you say, and good luck in expanding upon your theory, silly man. :P

check out the creation network,..then one could ask how accurate is carbon dating or any other scientific method of dating,..one might say christianity is of 'mythological' proportions but as true communist christians, christianity is the only 'myth' that will bring immortality to those who believe,..for the rest, eat and drink for to morrow,..for all we know from the 'great' scientific tax payer paid scientists of renown, dinosaurs are dragons,..the bible mentions dragons more than dinosaurs,..current depictions of dinosaurs are of the imagination of the mind, the could have skin similar to the elephant or scales of the serpent or that of the crocodile,..hmmmmm,..god is pro-choice,..choose him or choose eternal separation from him,..this is what my research and development team have put together,..no different then phd-master of sciences theories of boom! then there was a blob that evolved into what is now,..

HERE's a Bible study for you...
I have NO CLUE where I once saw it - but it was text about great giants as monsters roaming the earth... and I haven't a clue where I saw it...
I dismissed it as a remnant reference to the ancient (psuedapigraphal or heretical?) texts in the Book of Enoch where angels took human women for mates and they bore giants... (hence Daniel's encounter with Goliath?) BUT maybe it wasn't speaking of Nephilim... but DINOSAURS!
Seek and ye shall find... here's one of the verses...
Genesis 6:4 The Nephilim (meaning giants) were in the earth in those days, and also after that, when the sons of God came unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them: the same were the mighty men that were of old, the men of renown.
(Sigh)
Now we have yet another thing to chat with God about in eternity...
2nd Peter 3:8 But do not forget one thing, my dear friends! There is no difference in the Lord's sight between one day and a thousand years; to him the two are the same.
Peace.

An external God is an imaginary friend for adults and another boogey man for children. "In the beginning was the WORD" We live in a story God created to pass eternity. God is a fantasy writer! As characters in his story we are part of god in a holographic way where each part contains the whole because the whole contains each part. Why do bad things happen to good people? It advances the plot. Time is just a way to keep the pages in order.

carbon 14 dating is incorrect, too many bones and no blue prints. I don't buy the whole dinosaur thing. Some of the bones match but others don't work.
Noah and the ark, plus the big asteroid craters. Things got moved around and re done.

Well, first came the sin (of Adam), then came death. Before that, there was no death.
So dinosaurs couldn't have come and gone.
They were created when Adam and Eve lived.
(I hope I am understanding your question)

Sounds good, I have always wondered if this may have been a possibility.
When God created the Earth maybe it was in "God's time" and not our own. Therefore the six days of creation could have been much much longer.
