Right now he's basically surviving on water and fruit, I've tried everything that I can think of, he won't eat the dry puppy kibble alone, I've mixed the dry food with wet and he nibbles at it but leaves it mostly untouched, he won't even eat my food when I give it to him, he just goes to the water bowl and fills up. I've even tried using dry cat food, as my friend has a dog that only eats cat food so I decided to try it, he eats a little bit more than the puppy food, but not much, I've had him for 2 weeks now and I'm starting to get very worried cause I don't know what else to do. On the other hand, he seems healthy, he runs around and plays like a little demon, and he's still chubby, but I don't know how much longer he'll be like that if he doesn't eat. Does anyone have any suggestions? Oh I tried mixing the cat food with wet food and he actually barked at me.

i have a 9 week old cockapoo and when i first got him i ran into the same problem the way i fixed it was take the dog food and add water let it soak up the water and become soft then go to petco and get k-9 gold it is a powder that is for young puppies that can be used as a milk replacement or an additive i use one scoop of dog food softened then i add one cup of the milk powder ( its has alot of vitamins in it and the pups love the taste) i mix it all together and then i introduce it to them make it very soupie if he still doesn't dig in like my pup doesn't i take a spoon and put some on the spoon and he will eat it off the spoon but wont put his head in the bowl do it from the spoon or put some on a plate its has worked for me and everyday he is eating more and more....... also they are not a grub dog put the food out in the morning he/she might eat a few bits and that's it i am told they kinda pick at there food all day i have noticed mine likes to eat more at night around 6 or 7 but will take a few bits throughout the day........ that k-9 gold is a blessing and it only cost like 9 dollars but it makes all the difference in the world with out that mine would not eat........ i think they still want that mothers milk taste and just arnt really ready for the hard food.......

10 week old baby puppy soak his food don't drowned it but do soften it. Also hand feeding is an important exercise to work with your dog. Another thing to see if the dog will eat is cooked hamburger and rice even I like it so I make it when my dog is not feeling well most dogs will eat this and it is bland enough so it wont hurt your pup. If he is acting fine he probably is OK how many meals are you feeding per day?

10 weeks is still pretty young.
Try getting a puppy formula and give it to him. As time goes on he will adapt to the new food.
if you are concerned, check with your vet

I have to agree ! the vet is the best person that can help you.

But try cooked chicken....i dont know many pets that can't resist chicken (or humans for that matter).

Does he have a cough?? if so take him to the vet asap. Are his poos normal???

Good Luck
