Ok sooo... I was supposed to ship out mext month to Air Force BMT... I was really excited and I really wanted to do it, but I got scared and I had some issues at home and I dropped out of DEP. Plus my parents had no Idea I had joined and they were pretty much against me wasting the money they invested in my college education... but I really want to joing the Air Force so what can I do?

Join the Air Force if you want. The experience is great. Assuming you finish college while you are in, which is totally possible, even easy, if you work at it, when you get out, your resume will be 10 times as attractive as a guy the same age with nothing but a degree. The Air Force will pay for school, well most of it, while you're on Active Duty. it's called tuition assistance. I think it's 75%, but it could have changed. Tell your parents to save the money, you'll use it on your Masters after your tour is over. Tell them you don't think you're ready for college just yet, but that you think the military will provide some much needed discipline, as well as training you just can't get anywhere else.
My resume kicks butt. I'm an electrical/environmental engineer, which has nothing to do with being a "Marine Russian Cryptologic Linguist/Electronic Warfare Specialist/Intelligence Analyst". But let me tell you, when someone sees that on my resume, that stands out. when they see that at 24 I led a team of Marines into combat, they just assume I can handle a few Grad students in the Engineering department. My resume is as long as my arm, and it's all true. How many 26 year olds can say that? Not many. Tell all that to your parents. Tell them you're serious. go to them having done some research. Real research, not Yahoo! answers.
And like the guy above said: only go if you're serious. There's nothing to be scared of. Air Force Basic is 6 weeks long. The hardest thing you'll do is a wall locker inspection. At least that's what my brother and wife told me.

You aren't locked in until you finish boot camp, but they never tell you that. If you still want to go, go to the recruiting office and get another DEP ship out date.
I don't see where it is a waste of your parents money for your college if you go in the military. It is a great experience, if you finish you have it on your resume that you did a job that you proved yourself responsible for billion dollar equipment and a job that was more than sitting on chair in a cubicle. You get more than book knowledge, you get experience in working as a teammember and in leadership and working under serious deadlines. If you have any college loans outside of what your parents spent, the military can help you pay them off. If you have a Bachelors college degree, I'm suprised you didn't go in as an officer. The military can help you pay for classes if you want to get a higher degree or broaden your knowledge with a degree in a second major. If you do you finish your military time with an honorable discharge, you also get Veteran's benefits that include hiring prefences with civil service jobs.

Not sure what exactly you want.
Nothing wrong with going to college and then into the military, I did this and don't regret it.
You are over 18, do what you want and not what your parents want. If you truly want to join the military, talk to the recruiter and sign up again.

Figure out what you want to do. If you want to join, then do it. It's your life. You have to live it, not your parents. They just want you to be happy. No parent is particularly happy when their child decides to join the military, but the do learn to respect the decision.
If you are just going to back out again, don't waste the recruiters time. I know that if you backed out on me, you would have to find another recruiter.

your problem now will be getting the waiver to get back in, and finding a recruiter willing to put effort into someone who has already backed out once before. Since the AF is overmanned, unless you have all sorts of mad skills they are in desperate need of, My guess is, you will have a hard time convinging a recruiter that you aren't gonna bail on him again.

You would need to get the Air Force recruiting commander to approve a wavier allowing you to enlist.

The military is for people who can't get a real job. Your parents were right....don't waste your college education.
The military is just another social welfare program.....the gov't uses these people as cheap labor for political purposes.
