Girl, as long as ya'll 18 you can get in any club in New Orleans. Males usually have to be at least 21 or 25.
Now Bourbon Street when its Crowded and there's an event they'll start carded for 21 and asking for a fee at the door. SECRET.....ALL CLUBS ON BOURBON ARE FREE...when there isn't an event going on.
Local clubs you do pay more when your not 21, but you can be 18 to party and 21 to drink. (Most of the Local clubs LADIES are free before 10;)

The law actually does not require you to be 21 unless there are gambling machines visible. The plain truth is that the clubs themselves do not want anyone under 18 because the generally try to get others to buy their drinks, and they tend to cause more trouble. Almost all of them have signs that read 21 and older on the door. Don't plan on getting into any club in the French Quarter. I doubt seriously that you will be able to get in. There is definitely no drinking under 21.
By the way, don't fall for that trick they do in the quarter "I'll bet you $5 that I know where you got your shoes" The answer is "on your feet". Also, as with any large city, it is always best not to walk down streets alone or down deserted streets at night.
You might want to check out the wax museum and street musicians, and magicians in the "Quarter", and take the Aquarium to the Zoo Cruise at the end of Canal Street. We have great antique shops in the French Quarter too!!
Have fun!!!

The clubs I visited apparently had a little trouble with the law and had cops checking ID's at the door. Under 21 not allowed. In fact we got carded everywhere we went and I did not see anyone under 21 in the clubs. I would imagine that there might me a couple you could get in without showing ID. Depends on how old you look. Its something they take very seriously. If they get caught serving minors they will have to pay for the cop to sit at their door and check ID's

they card but if your under 21 most will give a stamp or a wrist band saying under 21 so your cousin can't drink. i'm 19 and i've been in about three clubs in the quaters so it should be no problem, i usually go to rocafella 2.5 but thats a local hip hop club and pretty hard to find if you don't know the city and honestly can get pretty dangerous sometimes so i wouldn't send you there. stick to the quaters. don't wander alone on deserted streets. keep a cell phone handy and a number to the taxi company. there is plenty to do. check out Barry;'s List there are penty of good ideas.

first of all we're glad u picked new orleans instead of the steretyped florida beach..... um if your sportsfans definetely go to a hornets game... take a ferry on the mississippi river, visit the audobon zoo and aquarium... dont miss out on the french quarter and all the new orleans culture it carries... one last thing, if u want to show them the not so nice areas such as the lower 9th ward and other areas that were really hit hard by the storm... we want people to know that not everything is ok yet and we really need funding from the govt.... good luck!

Go to Madigan's or an uptown bar like that. They generally let 19 year olds in.
