I workout everyday (cardio/strength training) but for work i have to sit down a lot on my bum. (for hours at desk). Will this cause my bum to become fatter than if I didn't sit down on it for a long time?

Standing on your legs do not make them fat, but they get excise as they carry us every where, so the bum needs a work out, if you are worried give that bum a work out, off you go, dancing is great for the bum.

No. It will not cause it to become fatter, only fat can do that. However, if you are not working your gluttes regularly, you will lose tone and firmness. Your butt is a muscle just like other muscles in your body. I would suggest kegels while you sit at work. Try contracting one cheek at a time, alternating rate and rhythm while you sit and work, or while you are driving home...contract them alternatively to the music. Have fun and work out your cheeks, and then you can sit on them all you want. :)

You might get a 'secretary' bum -- in other words a flat one ;-)
