Under the US System, probation is a "second chance" for someone who screwed up. The idea is that if you stay "clean" for the probation period, you usually get your record cleaned and don't have to go to jail.
But reoffending within the probation period means you will likely be prosecuted for both crimes - and punished more severely. The theory is, anyone can screw up once. But if you do it twice, after being caught the first time and then let go, you really don't give a flip about what you did, you're a bad *** criminal and you should go to jail.
Reoffending while on probation is almost the definition of stupidity... unless you want a criminal record following you around for the rest of your life.
The Canadian system is probably similar.

Your hand will be chopped off this time, oh never mind you live in Canada. You will have to serve time now, but probably only a couple of months and I wouldn't shoplift anymore since you're not good at it

you would be gazing a lots stricter probation, and lots extra community hours, end shoplifting, somebody has to pay for it, it ought to look loose, besides the shown fact that that may no longer, shops would desire to develop expenditures to atone for shoplifting, so do us all a prefer and end it, so we don't get taken for a journey on the checkouts.
