So we've been together for about a year, and I know I love her. Is it ok to share an account with each other.

I agree with the people who said, "hell no."
If you get married, then the two of your should talk about how your going to handle the finances. Generally the person who is better with money should be responsible for paying the bills etc. Some married couples these days don't combine their finances. That's what I did in my first marriage and I'm telling you it was a good thing.

Definitely Not!! Never a credit card. If you want to share a joint checking account for your living expenses and you both contribute to it, this might be a first step. But, do not deposit your whole payroll check in this account. You should sit down and discuss how much each of you will contribute to this account and what the money will be used for.

Its not a huge deal if you trust the person but the spending of money and on what could cause problems in the future...i suggest you dont do it for a credit card. instead set up a checking account that can be for the two of you and each of you will still have your personal accounts as well.

if you have to ask a bunch of strangers whether or not you can trust your girl with your money and your credit history then No don't do it.If you are even wondering if she will screw you over then the thing to do is at least wait a litle while longer or you could wind up with a maxed out credit card and feel like a fool.Right?

I was with my ex for 10 years and we never shared any bank cards nor credit cards. I never trusted him that way. I would wait until you are married. Mind you I was never married to my ex either...it was a common law and I thank god...It may be disasterous...
Try it and see..I dare you if you are asking a bunch of strangers this question. Communicate with your g/f about and see how she feels about it too. set some common grounds. Go AHEAD...If you can't tell I am being SARCASTIC.

Thats credit suicide! I wont share an account with anyone unless Im married to that person and know their spending habits. Just my opinion after all its your credit score not mine.

nope dont do it!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i know maybe it you seem like everything is going perfect but something might happen, wait, wait one more year and then you will know she is the one. just because you have been with this girl for a year doesnt mean it will last. young people always make this mistake and regret it in the end.trust me on this one!!!

are you out of your mind. youve only been together for a year, wait about 4 more before considering this. girl + credit card in both your names = your credit score approaching 0.

Wait until you're married. No matter how much you love her that's asking for trouble, and if you love her that much, you'll get married eventually anyway, right?
