It's like...they ask a question relating to a certain religion but then people who want to mock that religion all pile in and make fun of it...what if that question was asked in total seriousness? Don't you have any respect for people other than your own amusement? Don't you ever get tired of making fun of someone else? And I'm being general. This isn't pointed at Christians vs. Athiest, though they do seem to be the guiltiest.

As far as I'm concerned, we were just on the verge of a fascist theocracy, with the current leadership and the "War On Terror."
If you want to avoid it you need to speak up!
They want no separation between Church and State!
They believe we're in the last Days and fated for Armageddon.
People who believe that should be opposed. Making fun of dangerous beliefs is needed.
Where is it written that I have to respect clowns who believe in these things?

I mock the idiots who shove their faith down others throats, not the faith. Okay, maybe a particular **aspect** of the faith, but for the most part I try to respect the individuals POV. The problem with discussing religion with some people is that they take offense if you sneeze the wrong way.

The there's some days where it's hard to be level headed and flaming happens for whatever reason. As a friend says - everyone has their 'little witchy' days. The difference is will you stay a 'little witch' or will you try to stay a 'grown up witch'?

No, on no account because of the fact i'm no longer on my own interior the attempt ... Jesus Christ died for our sins, God calls, the Holy Spirit convicts, I plant or water, and somebody else plant life or waters, and God supplies the upward thrust ... if that guy or woman is waiting they are going to be stored! No returned. are not you happy somebody took the time to furnish you the gospel and you have been stored? It takes various staying power/longsuffering, worrying approximately others, God's training and elegance besides the shown fact that that's all nicely worth it interior the long-term ... God used you to deliver somebody to Him for eternal existence. What extra helpful reward in this existence can there be? no longer counting the heavenly rewards. I count quantity all of it exhilaration to go through for Christ and mocking, laughter, and get in touch with calling isn't something whilst in comparison with what the saints who've been martyred for his or her faith went by way of. nutrition for theory.

Yes, as a matter of fact, I do have respect for what others believe. If they want to believe what they want to believe, that is their business, until they ask about mine, or make a comment that I know to be untrue. Then my point is to show them what I believe, and why.
So far as my faith as a Christian is concerned, all I am called upon by God to do, is to tell the good news of what Jesus did for man. Beyond that, it is a matter between the other person, and God.

I wouldn't say that I mock other people's beliefs, but I will state my opinion when someones beliefs are completely harmful to others (homosexuals are evil for example) and when people try to force their religion into government.

It;s usually the people I have a problem with, not the religion.

If this were TV, this would be the point where the advice would be, "Turn the set off."

If you want the Christian opinion on something, there are many places where you can get it. One of the virtues of this site, as I see it, is the variety of opinions and the way in which they are expressed.

Both my parents are atheist/agnostic, so I am clearly not anti-atheist. In fact, I understand where atheists are coming from, even though I disagree with most of their traditional points of view.

That said, I share your frustration and dismay with the way people at this site, especially many atheists, cynically put down other people's beliefs.

Some atheists here often claim that we Christians need to grow up, to leave our "imaginary friend behind." Perhaps it is they need to grow up, take what they learned in kindergarten, and treat others with the respect they wish to receive from others.

It's very easy for Christians to answer ANY question. They just copy and paste from the Bible. They do not have to think, do not use logic, facts, knowledge. They just have believes based on... believes.
People, who do not believe in all this religious nonsense try to use reason, but it fails every time (how can reason and logic compete with THE BIBLE, WRITTEN BY GOD HIMSELF?!) So, non-religious people use humor (sometimes good humor, sometimes bad one.) Talking to a religious person is like talking to a small child, who BELIEVES in Santa. Why do children believe in Santa? They want to be loved by a nice fatherly figure, who makes their wishes come true. Same with religious people - pray and your wishes will come true. Just like children, only when you are an adult and still believe in fairy tales, it's OK to joke about you.

What do you expect if you post your questions here? We have to accept that we are human with different attitudes. To my opinion, should the ask er are really serious they should not post the questions in here. They should ask the right person who really master the topics.

I don"t deliberately go out of my way to mock. I am genuinely curious about certain aspects of religion and why people believe what they do.
