I pray about it but I don't know like I get real scared. Plus my worship is pretty bad. I can't focus. I sing in my church chior. Like I just can;t get into it. I never have gotten in to worship like i see some people. Some peolpe bow and raise there hands as high as possible but I can't raise my hand halfway. I think about it but I freeze and think what will these people think and I just don't know what to do! I miss not being scared and worried. I also get scard if I think about even if I die today I still go to either Heaven or Hell and there is nothing I can do about it. That really really really scares me. What is wrong with me?
Will you PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE pray for me? I am scared and sad and confused and I need help. Oh and i am scared to talk to my youth pastor cuz I don;t want him to think less of me.

Of course I will pray for you! Please don't be afraid to talk to your youth pastor. He won't think less of you, and he'll be able to help you. Ultimately prayer is the best solution for any trouble you may be facing. God can get you through. You don't have to worry about your style of worship. Some people feel comfortable raising their hands, but other people (like me, for example) prefer a quieter style of worship. God doesn't care whether you raise your hands or not as long as you worship sincerely. Just know that God loves you and will take care of you, and continue to believe in Him.

Who or what has made you feel so inferior? For some reason you feel you are not worthy of god's love, the love of those around you and worry too much about things in general. Take an inventory of yourself, and lifestyle. Drink coffee? colas? Caffine and too much causes panic attacks and neurotic behaviors. If that isn't the reason, are you getting enough sleep? If not the problem, how about any medications you may be on? Some create side effects. If none of these is the problem, see a doctor about the panic attacks. I worked in medicine 20 years ago and sometimes the body goes haywire (hormone) levels which can be corrected. In the meanwhile I will pray for you. Take care as the Lord loves his children..................

First, I will pray for you. Prayer is not a waste of time. I was once in your shoes, I had panic attacks questioned my salvation, quenched the spirit( still have a problem with that). You can not judge you relationship with God by anyone else. It is personal and between you and him. I can only tell you why I was going through these things. My lack of faith is what caused alot of my problem. I just could not accept the fact that God had forgiven me of my sins and washed me clean. All this was because I had not forgiven myself and since I could not accept this it affected my relationship regarding worship and praise toward God. I often felt unworthy to praise him. I was so scared to give him praise because I knew everyone would think I had done something wrong and look at me differently or they would think I was crazy. When I stopped worrying about what other people thought my worship got stronger. As christians we sometimes judge ourselves more harshly than we deserve. God knows we are far from perfect. You are going to make mistakes. Life is not going to be easy. There is nothing wrong with you. Trust him pray harder talk to your youth pastor, I hope he would not judge you or think less of you. He was once young himself. You anxiety will ease as long as you trust in him.(God). I will pray for you and know you are not alone.

I know exactly what you mean! I also get panic attacks when I think about heaven and hell. It's just not something that I can spend time thinking about. I consider myself to be a faithfilled person and I pray every night. I would love to be able to read the Bible, to be knowledgable about it but can't bring myself to do so. When the preist at my church talks about rapture or the second comming I freak. I just can't handle thinking about it.

Mostly I just try to avoid thinking about the situation. That's the only way I have ever been able to deal with it. I do think that talking to your youth pastor would be a good idea though. I'm sure he has talked to people with similar feelings and will not think any less of you, that's his job. Who knows, talking to him may make you less afraid to think about what happpens after this.

Good luck!

First of all I know you said you are scared to talk to your youth pastor but honestly you are not the only person who goes through stuff like this I have someone in my family who has had a similar problem and what I learned from her is sometimes these things don't have anything to do with your spiritual condition they are frequently related to chemical imbalances in the body.

That said, I would encourage you to talk through these issues with someone you know whom you trust and can give you a sounding board for the things that you are feeling and give you some good advice and can help you pray about the situation.

First of all, I want to apologize on behalf of the people who answered before me. If you can't give a positive answer, then don't answer the question. Why are you answering this question if you're not a Christian?

I will send a prayer your way. Is there anything that happened in your life lately that would distance your relationship between you and God? If so, ask for forgiveness. If you really don't know where all of this is coming from, then you need to pray against Satan. You need to pray that you are a child of God and that he has no control over your life. Just repeat this over and over, that Satan is not welcome in your life. Keep praying, don't stop. Sometimes God tests us to see how faithful we are, and this sounds like a test. We are supposed to fear God because He wants us to submit to His discipline and respect Him. He does not want us to be scared of Him.
Also, your youth pastor will not think less of you. That is why he/she is there - to help and give you guidance. Remember, people of the church are human, too, and have their own trials and tribulations. Every Christian's relationship with God continually grows because nobody knows everything there is to know about God.

While Fear is a God given instinct, it can run our lives in any one of a thousand different ways. the answer to your question lies in what has generated your fear. Usually, a fear that exceeds it's intended purpose, and thus dominates our thought life, at the very least, is generated by, to keep it simple, one of the seven deadly sins. For example: if a man were to stick a gun to my head, would I fear for my life because I might die, my kids won't have a parent, or that I know that my relationship with God isn't right? And why isn't is right? These seven sins are: Pride, Greed, Lust, Anger, Gluttony, Envy, and Sloth. The vigilant yet humanly possible work we do against these things keeps the door open for a faith and dependence on God that works! Lets not forget that Fear generates these character defects, all of which lead to failure, and more fear. And Pride, the maker of excuses, allows these defects to survive and thus create more failings in our lives which in turn generate more fear. It is said quite often that God appreciates a Humble man. For humility is seeking out our defects, with a desire to change for the better. With pride out of our way, we really are able to seek Humility, and thus become humble - a person who accepts himself for who he or she really is without argument. Your answer is this; God will supply us with all of the faith that we need - so long as we practice Humility, and remain humble.

Keke, please please talk to your youth pastor. Christians are here to help each other with this type of problem in their lives. This fear of death is very common because it is something that we have not experienced. Your pastor will help you. He will not think less of you. Please believe me.

I will say to you that when your focus is on Jesus, then you don't care what others think of you and your relationship with Him. Other than that you want them to know that you love Him.

During worship, the raising of hands signifies surrender to God. You are in His presence and He is your focus.

I am praying for you. I ask that you will talk to other Christians and have them help you just like Jesus has told them to do. Then you can help others. God bless.

This fear your experiencing sounds like a problem with your brain chemsitry; an overactive left amygdala or too much acetylcholine perhaps. If you're a teenager, this is just part of the whole hormonal thing and you'll be fine. If not, you could see a psychiatrist to sort things out. I believe that you'd be experiencing fear symptoms right now regardless of your religion; it just happens to fit right now as a needed target for your anxiety.

At your age it's normal to become skeptical. About death, surf others about their idea like "You have to seek what you love", by Job somewhere in the Stumbleupon link. Dying due to cancer, he spent his life working to leave something to this world. Miracioulsly, he survived. so we have Macintosh hardware.
about your worship hand position, we studied in public speaking that gesture to worship God, raise your hands above your head. And others have no right to look at you.
