That depends on who the grandparents are. I was on a field trip with my grandson last week, and one of the moms said that one set of grandparents liked girls but not boys, so wanted do things with their daughter, but not their son. It hurt the parents and the grandson and made the granddaughter uncomfortable. That sound horrible to me. What's the point of being that way?

My mother did. My sister's son was her favorite. She really didn't like my third child. She called her the "little girl". Now that she has passed away all is forgiven and forgotten.

i think so. my dad does it. i don't think it's done consciously but, he treats my kids differently than he does my brothers kids. he likes them better.
