Thier pool will backflush into our yard, It will kill all our flowers and numerous bushes. Not to mention my grandkids won't be able to play out there becase it will be ancle deep or more water. It also smells moldy. I have lived in peace for over 40 years this family moved in and you can't tell them . They do whatever they want. We are in our 60's and retired. Hubbys health is bad, just had Aortic Aneurysm Surgery when he almost died. All they have to do is drain it tp the street. Did I mention their 2 boys are trying the best to make life miserable.
We are sick over this!

I would call the local health dept. because it is a potential hazard to your health and to the environment if they don't drain it properly. I would not even discuss it w/ them anymore, as for there boys trying to make your life miserable I think they feel intimidated because they know that their parents are not going about things in the right way , and it makes them want to act ugly towards you. A kind word drives away wrath...try that and see if it helps!

Damaging your neighbor's pool or circulating pump is malicious property damage, which could get you in 'way more trouble than the matter is worth. If you live in a municipality or an incorporated township, there may be a noise ordinance that will cover the pump. Check with the police captain or the county sheriff, as applicable. Don't damage the pump or the pool yourself. Jail time is not worth it. If you find the noise ordinance covers the noise of the pump, then let the law enforcement agency handle it. Otherwise it is best to discuss it with the offending neighbor. Does she know she is causing you a problem? How long has this been going on? Is it possible she doesn't realize yet how much it will cost her? Call the electric company and ask them for an estimate, so you will have that figure in hand when you talk to the neighbor. "Do you realize it does not have to run all the time, and that it is wasting you $X per month?" Also ask her if she would mind putting a sound deadening enclosure around it, or even letting you do it at your expense. It is true that a lot of people are just hateful, and your neighbor may not want to cooperate. Use the law if you must, and be sure to let her know she is being a bad neighbor. Sometimes it takes a while for that to sink in, and she will reconsider after weeks or months. But don't commit a crime, yourself, in the process. Let things work out. As a last resort, get an MP3 player with some nice noise-cancelling earphones. You will get used to wearing them sooner than you think. Good luck!

Our neighbors have an above ground pool also. They are kind but it is very uncomfortable when you are in the comforts of your own home and someone is on the pool ladder looking into your home. Even though our neighbors are nice, I still get irritated.

Try video taping the pool and submit to the city. If your neighbors are not taking proper care of the pool it will attract mosquito's etc. I am almost certain the city or health dept can help you. Good Luck and I hope your hubby's health improves.

My neighbors have an above ground pool and i have never had any of those problems. No water in my yard, this year they just got a bigger one and took the smaller one out. I have no idea what they did with the water but there isn't any extra water in my yard. Maybe the ran a hose down to the sewer drain. There must be local laws or ordinances in your area about this. I would look up pool laws in your area and see if you can get them on breaking any laws.

Do like Genevieve said and check out the local laws and regulations regarding above ground pools.

Then try to have a quiet talk with your neighbors. Tell them your problem and ask that they take steps to remedy the situation. Try not to get into a heated argument.

Give them a week or so to at least start to remedy the situation. If they have not begun to straighten things out, contact the city manager and make a complaint. Make a complaint to the police.

Then see a lawyer and sue them for damages, and deprivation of use of your property.

Good Luck.

Some people are animals, call the health dept, about the mold smell, they can't just ruin your property by improperly draining the pool, call a lawyer and sue there stupid butts, that would make them pay attention. Sorry you have to put up with such morons, I hope it gets better.

Try talking to your local Homeowner's Association. With the circumstances you've presented, there should be something they can do about it. It is destructing your property. I'm sorry these people are causing you so much stress. Not all neighbors are considerate, unfortunately. If the kids are creating noise issues, make sure to notify the police.

If worst comes to worst and nobody will do anything, you could always go to Today Tonight or A Current Affair or whatever foot-in-the-door "current affairs" journalist and complain to them. They live for stories like this, and if even nothing gets fixed, it will shame and ostracise your filthy neighbours. Set the trash on the trash, I say!

those horrible people have no consideration. call the city and complain about their pool being in the state it is in and see if they can do anything for you. talk to your other neighbours and see if they are having any problems with them. maybe you can all band together and come up with an idea to make them respect you. if you see those boys bothering your property then call the police for harassment!

Backflushing onto the ground is illegal in most areas. Building codes usually require a drywell for pool effluent. Check with your local zoning department or building inspector... They can probably solve your problem
