If that is all they are defending, that alone does not make him a terrorist.

However IMHO that is not the condition we have faced in IRAQ. These were terrorists that have terrorized the city and the people and they have moved into a Mosque as a safe haven to shoot others from.

That would be like someone here in America going around killing people and then taking over a church to snipe at the police from the bell tower or any other place that the church has that would be an optimum spot to kill the police from.

I think the key word here is defend. If you are defending your holy place then no. Also as pointed out by someone else it would not really fit the def of terrorism

Using a so-called "holy" place as a cover for planning and executing acts of terrorism is never a viable reason for expecting not to be attacked by those who know better.

Words can be translated and manipulated to the needs of it's user. I strongly feels that defending the holly place of worship from being destroyed is holly war. It is a must.

terrorism means using terror to change policies or force some government into doing something they don't want to.

you can't just call someone a terrorist unless they willingly hurt civilians and use terror tactics to do that.

You should not worry.

to the Jews than it is to Islam.

It's a fine line between fighting for your freedom and being a terrorist. I think it all depends on which side you're on and who is doing the reporting.
