Red roo's are nearly entirely vegetarian, but cannot resist the taste of fish. In coastal regions, they wade into the shallows and chase the schools of mullet onto the shore where they hungrily devour them. Hence the old name, The fishing roo.

Red roo's are the easiest of roo's to train. However, their hearing range responds to higher frequencies better than lower ranges. Thats why roo trainers use a high squeaky voice and are often females.

Because they are easy to train, some unscrupulous tourist parks dress them in crocodile skin suits and pass them off as dinosaurs to gullible tourists. However, the Australian tourist board is cracking down on this practice with heavy fines and loss of permits.

When a red roo is distressed or injured, they emit a peculiar howl that has been compared to that of a hyena.

A baby kangaroo is called a winnie blue.

A group of kangaroo's is called a pavlova.

The wearing of kangaroo suits on halloween is not advisable as halloween coincides with their breeding season and there have been some very embarrasing incidents for the wearers.

Powdered red roo bones are said to be a cure for hangovers.

The red roo is the 3rd fastest animal on the planet, behind the cheeta and the Norfolk island spotted jaguar.

hope this helps..

The Red Kangaroo is the largest of all kangaroos
They are the largest surviving marsupial, can be found across mainland Australia

Length: males: to 1.8 m, females to 1.1 m. Tail up to 1 m.
Weight: males to 85 kg, females to 35 kg

They have short, red-brown fur, fading to pale buff below and on the limbs. It has long, pointed earlobes and a squared-off muzzle.

Females are smaller than males and are blue-grey with a brown tinge, pale grey below, although arid zone females are coloured more like males.

It has two appendages with small claws (much like arms), two muscular legs, which are used for jumping, and a tail, which is often used like a third leg for balance.

Red Kangaroo's legs work much like a rubber band. The male Red Kangaroo can leap in full force approximately 30 feet (9.14 meters) in one leap.

The Red Kangaroo inhabits most of the dry inland of the central part of Australia in small groups called mobs. It prefers open plains where trees and bushes are scarce.

Red Kangaroos maintain their internal temperatures at a point of homeostasis (about 36°C) using a variety of physical, physiological and behavioural adaptations. These include having an insulating layer of fur, being less active and staying in the shade when temperatures are high, panting, sweating, and licking its forelimbs.

The Red Kangaroo prefers to eat grasses and other vegetation. It can go long periods of time without water, as long as it has access to green plants as they have the ability to take moisture out of plants.

The Red Kangaroo is nocturnal and crepuscular, and largely spends the daylight hours sleeping or otherwise relaxing.

The Red Kangaroo's range of vision is approximately 300 degrees due to the position of their eyes. A human's range of vision is around 180 degrees in comparison.

I dont have red roos coming into my backyard but I do have the eastern grey kangaroo/wallaby - they come daily and they are quiet interesting to watch - I only noticed a few wks ago though they eat wild passionfruit - they kept pulling the vine down off a tree in the backyard and chew away, eat it all and leave a mess with the rest of the vine. they make me laugh when I stand there and watch em - cause when they hear the slightest noise - they prick their ears and stand tall and keep an eye on you all the time whilst their chewing away on the grass.
