The key is to work on yourself until you do then you will be the best person you can be for him or her. That's what I do and if like attracts like, then she'll be doing the same thing.

Doubtful. I made an effort with Mate1.com and I got heebeejeebees because I actually got responses from real men! What worried me the most was 19 years olds who wanted to experiment with 100 years old gals. Maybe they were trying to be tactful because I'm 60 and feeling older than Satan at times and the idea of dating scares me because my first date, I was 10 years old and I couldn't get a grip on my silliness, so mostly, I try to avoid the whole thing. I did have an experience last year during Fall quarter. The guy was coming on very strong, but he was only 30 years old. We began to develop something, but it was always sabbotaged in some way. That was September and I'm still thinking about him. Is that the beginning of having found a soul mate, or am I safer in my vicarious world of television where I don't get hurt if I don't want to and I can enjoy feeling attracted to the rare one that grabs my attention. I understand that new discovery feeling can be addicting and that's why a lot of people, men and women only want new relationships...the anticipation feeling that ends when familiarity and same ol sets in. I'm too set in my ways and realize I don't have to take any bs off anyone. I'm a cool survivor of menopause and life really does kick into a new level of awareness. Relationships are not as important as before when I was naive and copying my mother.

I have found the female that I would like to share my life with and we have been married for 13 years thus far, true there have been a few disagreements along the way but nothing that two caring people could not work out, my lovely wife refers to me as her soul mate - this being the case she could be correct but whatever we are I am happy/content and would hope we will be together till the end.

I think everyone has quite a number of people who would be compatible mates. However, even relationships with people who are compatible mates require work and compromises. Keep looking; someday you'll find the right one for you.

I found my soul mate four years ago, and we have been happily married ever since.
I am glad there are so many on here that have experienced having a soul mate for life. It is a wonderful relationship.

Yes, I have found my soul mate. It is my husband of 45 years. The way we met and the way we are in our every day life together proves it beyond the shadow of a doubt. I don't know if I could ever love someone as much as I love him. He is my life and my love forever.

I have found the one who I will spend my life with. I really don't know what that term 'soul mate' means...

I think I could find thousands of them if I looked long and hard enough. There's 6 and1/2 billion people on this planet. To think that only one was meant for me seems rather myopic.

I don't believe in soul mates. I believe that we are able to love more than one person in our lifetime. I believe it is possible to grow out of love with someone over time.
