My tenth anniversary! I chose 8/8 because someone told me that if you turn an 8 sideways it becomes the infinity symbol - just like how long love should last! we're still together!

Yup!! You're right! Chinese believe that 8 is a lucky number, but 4 is an unlucky number. But western countries and Japan believe that 7 is a lucky number. In Chinese, 8 is pronounced 'fat' that means luck, but 4 is pronounced 'si' that means 'death'. My parents and I do believe in that too! You should marry at August 8, 2008. It'll bring luck to you! Beside that, you also can remember the date 8/8/08. Cool!

Sure.
Your husband will definately remember your anniversary - so that will eliminate a possible (and stereotypical) future fight.

Side note: 8/8/88 was chosen as the first night game at Wrigley Field. It rained. The game was cancelled. However, the Cubs got to use the tarp as a giant slip-and-slide. It's the only event I can think of that occurred on August 8th.

My husband, Motoshi Kosako, is a harpist, and he was booked for 7-7-07 along time ago, and has had to turn down maybe 20 couples, sense January. So, if you want this day, start booking early. Also be aware some wedding businesses charge more for days like this, because SO many couples chose it, it is like a holiday charge.

Good luck will be what ever day you choose!

I love the idea of getting married on 080808. I knew that turning the 8 on its side was the infinity symbol but did not know that in China it is the number meaning luck. In addition the circle is the symbol for eternity. I am into symbolism and meaning on a wedding day. I think too many brides just pick whatever strikes their fancy. I of course am super romantic. It even reminds me of kisses and hugs...oxoxox, never to be forgotten.

I think 7/7/07 is more lucky but 8/8/08 will be special for you!

I personally feel if your future husband and you feel like it is a "lucky day" for a wedding day then it is all that matters. Forget about the "bad luck" thing... I know if ya'll are happy then that is all that should matter. I know if your happy, and he is happy than that is all that matters.
Good Luck on future wedding, may you and your future husbnad be blessed, and be happy.

Any day would be a lucky day if youre marrying the love of your life. You make your own luck.

Any date you choose is a lucky day for a wedding, although I would not suggest your or the groom's birthday or a holiday for a wedding day. Your future husband might use the birthday/anniversary or holiday/anniversary as an excuse for only picking up one anniversary gift:).
