What is wrong with my dog Smokey.

Smokey's problem is that he's not in the hands of a veterinarian. Please take him right away, there is nothing the internet can help you with for those symptoms, it's quite possibly an emergency.

There area many reasons and illnesses that cause a dog to vomit and stop eating.
It could be anything.
Vets ask a number of questions and do many clincal exams to diagnose a sick animal and you have give little information so unfortunatly the only way you will find out what is wrong with Smokey is by taking him to the vets.
Do it TODAY.
Go now if you have not already. Even if its just a small thing thats causing him to vomit you will have got to the problem before it esculates into something that can not be treated easily.

first, how long has he been sick, did this just start? is there blood in his vomit? if so, call your emergency vet right away. if no blood then try to think of what smokey could of gotten into. i know my dog throws up sometimes after eating grass and this is the perfect time of year for that, also have you put any chemicals in your lawn recently? that could cause him to get sick. most importantly, use your instincts, you know your dog the best and if you feel that this won't pass or isn't something minor like eating something unharmful that just upset his stomach then call your vet right away!

this sounds like it could be kidney or liver failure. my pet had kidney failure and wouldnt eat or drink and he just layed around being unresponsive , he also had a strong smell to his breath. i would take your pet to the vet as soon as possible because if it is the kidneys the longer you wait the harder it is for the pet to recover. if the dog just wasnt eating them i would say your could give it a day or two , but with the vomitting and not drinking water your dog sounds really sick and there is a good chance that your dog is getting decreasingly dehydrated from this which can cause horrible problems such as kidney failure and such..so yeah vet as soon as you can.

Call your vet immediately before dehydration sets in. Your dog needs fluids. If your child was vomiting and not eating or drinking you'd get them medical attention. Why not the same Smokey.

Look at the website veterinarypartner.com. You need to be careful of dehydration. I would recommend a vet.

How old is the dog... Could be anything...get it to the vet (or emergency vet) right away.
