I went to my Dr. because I was having pain under my right rib and burning pain and numbness near my breastbone. He told me that the burning and numbness could be shingles. I haven't broken out in any kind of rash/blisters. Can you get shingles without the blisters? What else could cause a burning sensation and numbness if its not shingles?

Yes, it is possible that you can have shingles without the rash but it is rare. Also, the rash can take up to 14 days to appear! Since it can take a while, it is possible that your rash just hasn't hit yet. Your symptoms match the typical complaints of shingles. If in doubt, you can always seek a second opinion.

I had shingles for the first time when I was eight, after which kept on getting them (i'm kinda sickly, haha!) The stuff throughout the blisters can reason different men and women to get shingles in the event that they contact it. Maintain your shingles covered up. Are trying to not scratch them incase it gets on your fingertips and also you put out of your mind to scrub them. If it itches or stings, lay your hand on a cold hard surface and it is going to help. Shingles are like 'adult chook pox'. When you have had chook pox once, you in no way do again - but you could get shingles. You get them due to emphasize usually which messes up your immune procedure. Hold it blanketed. Notify your neices mom and your friend, but they are going to definitely me alright unless they touched the blisters! But take into account to preserve a bit distance from them unless the shingles to heal. Hope they disappear soon!

Shingles does not always have the ruptures or they come out in two weeks after the initial pain. If it has lasted another week go back and ask for medication to help! Shingles is very painful because it is the chicken pox virus that has remained in a nerve.
