Hershey chocolate/candy is shutting down a great number of their plants in the US to move out of coutry where it is cheaper to operate. They are letting hundreds of hardworking Americans go, and all in the name of saving a few cents per bar in production.
How dare they call themselves "The Great American Chocolate Bar'

The people who work there most likely belong to a union. The union strong armed Hershey over the years and inflated wages for unskilled labor. Now the company can pay way less for the unskilled labor. Hershey is not a charity- it exists solely to make a profit. The workers got too greedy.

That definitely bothers me but i think that the whole world should be able to have some hersheys chocolate bars even if they are cutting a lot of peoples jobs

Unfortunately Taxes and expenses in the United States are out of control. The country itself is going broke fighting unpopular wars. (just like the Russians in Afghanistan) The couple of cents a bar that you talk about will add up to Millions of dollars with the incentives given by most countries to pull in foreign investment.
We continually push business's out of the country by overtaxing and making simple things difficult with endless rules and regulations. Most movie company's now film over seas for this same reason. the entire Mexican border area has US factories on the Mexican side in order to take advantage of the lower labor costs.
I love Hershey's. I wish they would stay. But we have only our own @#$%^& government to blame. Business is Business.
