First turn the percent into a decimal. To do that, divided the percent by 100. So in this case, 60/100= .60. Once you have that number, multiply it by the number you are finding the percentage of. IN this case 120 * .60 = 72. Thus 60% of 120 is 72.

I usually do 50%(half) of 120 first which is 60 and then I usually take away the first 2 numbers of the 120 to get the 10%. Add the 60(50%) and the 12(10%) to get 72.
I know this is a very strange way of doing it but al least it works for me.
1% of 120 take off the 1.2
10% of 120 is 12
50% is half 60
15% of 120 is 10%+half of 10%=12+6

.60 times 120. to get the percent of 2 numbers (like 20 and 50), you divide the two numbers and then move the decimal point on the answer 2 spaces to the left.
ex: 50 and 100. 50/100= 2. Move the decimal 2 spaces left is 20%

Put a decimal point in front of 60 and multiply it by 120, it ought to come out to 72, meaning that 60 % of 120 is 72.

You would convert 60% to a decimal number by moving the decimal two places to the left (60% = 0.60) then you would multiply the decimal by 120...
120 * .60 = 72
Hope this helps

you always put the "% over 100", and "is over of" therefore...
60/100 X x/120 -because you have what(x) IS 60% OF 120..
100x=7200 x=72 72 is 60% of 120..get it? email me if you have questions.....:)

60% is the same as saying 6/100 or 0.60
What you do is multiply 0.60 x 120 to get your answer.
