i have read several posts and answers about love, and the answers that love is a verb really intrigued me. we can hear someone tell us that they love us, but if their actions don't confirm their professions we may feel it is not love. what about the spiritual path? is it something that can be read or heard or is it a verb as well? do we need to live in a certain manner to understand what the sages are trying to tell us? how long does it take to begin to understand?

Love is a wonderful madness. Without this madness the two sexes of humankind could probably never put up with each other. I suppose that at least some of the Christians who say they Love all us poor non-believers are mad, but they immediately denigrate their own statement rather consistantly which is a completely different kind of madness that is more a point of egoism..

Follow is a verb. It calls for action.
When someone says "Follow Jesus", that means to live your life by His example.
As you follow, He will open your heart, and your mind, as He did for the men on their way to Emaus...and you will begin to understand.
I don't know how long that will take. I think it depends on how well you listen.
God bless you!!
