What you have to ask yourself is if you can sacrifice what you have now (friends, school, etc) for the unknown. Obviously you seem well aware that there would be hard times in toronto too...but in the long run it may be the better match for you (?) If you dont think things are going to improve in Ohio and your unhappy then you dont really have too much to lose. And if it ends up being the wrong thing then oh welll. Sometimes you got to make the wrong decision to know what the right one is. You dont want to always wonder "well what if I had gone to toronto?" .. I dont mean to throw cliches at you but remember nothing is ever set in stone. Do what feels right in your gut!! I hope this helps. Good luck hun!! x

Just stop and think. Moving won't solve all your problems. Are you sure that when you move, there won't be any problems there. Sometimes, when we are so confused and upset, we tend to find the easy way out. By running away. You will be leaving a lot of friends and memories. Not everything is bad. You can start all over again now! Change your looks, cut your hair, dress smartly or hippy, do something new. Maybe take up figure skating or diving. I know, I would.

Even though things are rocky for you in Ohio, you should stay there for a little longer and make some money and finish up college (to get a degree and get a better job). Then I say move to Toronto because one thousand dollars is nothing to rent a place.

OK - Take a deep breath . . . You are right about "running away" from your problems in the general way of speaking.
But there are also times where taking yourself "out of the picture" is the best possible choice to make. . . perhaps you were all heavy drinkers. . .and you wanted to stop - you need to get away from all that. . . .just don't do it for the wrong reasons and don't let someone else "run your life" -- don't ever be shy to confront people. . . don't be afraid - be confident. . . .I had a rough college ed myself -- in NYC - believe me it was out of control and I went through a lot of SH**!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And I fled myself to England - for the wrong reasons - -wanted to just run -- and disappear -- but then, when I was so far away - I was able to see things for what they really were and I had a new perspective on life!
Godspeed. Starting over can be exactly what you need, or you may be fooling yourself. . . It's not always a journey on foot -- sometimes it's a journey inside your own soul.

Depends what kind of problems you are facing and what kind of opportunity is waiting for you in Canada. It also depends how old you are. Consult with someone with experience that can give you a cold and interest-free advice. It's important for you to know that if you make a mistake you could end up paying for the rest of your life. Me personally made a mistake 20 years ago when I was a teenager and still after 20 years am paying the consequences.

Don't forget, if you move to Canada, you have to get status papers stating that you have permission from the government to live and work here. From what I understand, it can take up to 18 months. You also have to be sponsored by a Canadian citizen. These rules are much like the rules of immigrating to the US from Canada.

Here is a website for more information. http://www.cic.gc.ca

It is a complicated process. I am doing it now and I am married to a citizen and it is going to cost $2500 and that is just to start the process. Unfortunately, you just can't move from country to country without permission from their government, and for very valid reasons in this day and age.

Good luck to you whatever your decision is.

Normally you can not just run away from problems. Since you have not described what is going on it is hard to say. But if you are in danger in Ohio you should certainly go. But if you are running from problems that will possibly reoccur or catch up to you eventually you should try and work on the problems because running is not the answer.

1000 bux won't get you very far, but the life challenge is such a thrill. I live near Toronto and I can definitely say, housing is VERYYYYYY very expensive. A very small apartment will cost you at least 900 a month and that's if your lucky. Stay where you are, the grass isn't always greener on the other side.

Good luck honey.

Getting started on only $1,000 would be VERY tough. You will need to rent a place and I don't think $1,000 could possibly cover your expenses, even until you got a job. So hang in there. Save money. You probably want at least $3,000, and $5,000 to be safe, before making a move like that.

Go for it. Just make sure that before you leave, you make peace with everyone. I hope you aren't running away from any problems, but if you are try to sort it out. I would say go for it, a fresh start is always good. Why not try staying in the US and go to CA or somewhere. You could go to Fresno state with me. If you do, I'll be your first friend. Anyway, go for it and I wish you the best of luck.
