I am assuming, since you ask in the Ford category that you are asking about Ford trucks. Also some people refer to SUV's as trucks .....so......

on Ford pick-up trucks, (including F150, Ranger, & Mazda B3000) if the 8th character of the VIN is a "V" then it is E85 capable.
On Ford SUV's (including Explorers & Mercury Mountaineers & Explorer SportTracs) the 8th character would be "K"

Ford actually was the first to offer Flex- Fuel Vehicles to the public in 1995.
Chrysler in 1998
GM in 2000

The foreign manufacturers are just starting.

Ford Rangers (& Mazda B3000) were first offered in 1999
Explorers starting in 2002
F150's in 2006

On the older vehicles by Ford, Usually badging on the vehicle alerting people to the fact that it's a FFV (that allows for E85)...

The newer vehciles will usually have a sticker on the fuel door alerting to the fact that you can use it. Another thing is to read the 8th digit of the vin number and match it to the lists on the net showing which Ford's are flex fuel or not.

If it has a flex engine it can. Look on the gas cap and see what it says. Look in the manual that came with the truck. Call the dealer and ask.

It will say so in your owner's manual, and on your gas cap.

E85 is more expensive, and you will use 30% more fuel, so why would you want to use E85?

Check your owners manual and see if it says it's flex-fuel. If you don't have that, some Fords have a flex-fuel marking on the body, I don't remember exactly what it looks like, but it has leaves on it.
