Dim Mak, Death Touch, or literally Touch Point. Dim Mak is said by its adherents to train attacks on pressure points and meridians in some styles of Chinese martial arts to kill, incapacitate, or otherwise control an opponent.

Traditional Chinese medicine theory is based on the idea that specific pathway lines called meridians exist on the human body, along which are found many hundreds of acupressure points. Acupuncture is the most well known use of the meridian system. According to proponents, pressing, seizing or striking these points (or combinations of points) with specific intent and at certain angles can result in either heightening or diminishing qi circulation in the body, according to this theory.

Effects are said to range between weakening an opponent, to deadening limbs or organ systems, to slowing bodily functions to the point of death.

Many modern martial artists consider the legends of Dim Mak to be a wuxia fiction. Others assert that it was a form of sorcery, at one point. Yet others claim to teach it in the martial syllabus of their schools.Dim Mak is in the syllabus of various shaoiln kung fu systems.

Chi Na, Kiai, Qi Gong, or pressure point manipulation. Dim Mak is a specific Chi Na move that is supposed to make someone collapse or pass out, not a style and it is unclear whether or not Dim Mak is real, fake or was real but is now lost.

Chi Na is an aspect of Chuan Fa or Kung Fu that works pressure points and nerve endings. Qi Gong (pronounced Chi Gung) is a similar exercise that works purely on Chi or the bodies inner energy. It uses less pressure points and more philosophical/spiritual Chi work. Kiai is the Japanese art of manipulating Ki (their word for Chi or Qi). Using pressure points you can take an enemies Ki away from them leaving them weak or slow. Pressure point manipulation is the scientific term for all of these arts but is also a term that is recognized around the world by medical professionals as a way to work reflexology and joint stiffness or to relieve pain with the help of a masseuse. Pressure point manipulation is mostly based on science rather then Chi, Ki or any other spiritual ideas.

Pressure point strikes, dim mak, chin na. Many different names for it. It does not work the way it is advertised in most places.
If you are talking about the stuff George Dillman teaches, buy a good stick, it'll work better.

presure point fighting is something you learn in shaolin. This is mostly in the tai chi department and attacks are for higher sash levels (tai chi goes by sash not belt). You do learn basic pressure points stimulation in shaolin-do tai chi.
