Actually you would be better off practicing punching, your will become a better puncher and the wrists will take care of themselves. It's like thinking your going to be a better kicker if you do excersises on your legs instead of kicking.

Sign up for a tennis class! Holding the racket makes your wrists get used to holding things heavy. Or as you're walking around the house carry those little 5 pound weights that are currently sitting in the corner since 1973. Carrying little objects around gives your wrists stamina. Hope this answers your question!

in my ki-aikido classes, we have a specific regiment of exercises that deal specifically with stretching and strengthening the wrists. I cannot give best detail in this space, but you could probably take ki-aikido as a supplemental martial art.
There are also wrist strength development exercises in yoga as well. Capoeira, has also done wonders for my wrist strength.
Unfortunately giving good detail on these methods would be difficult and may prove inacurrate, so I would advise just taking one of these as suplement.

You can do a variety of things. A punching bag will help. Grip exercises should help as well. Another exercise that you could do would to be get a pole, a rope and a 10 -15 lb plate. Attach the rope to the pole and the weight to the rope so it looks like a yo yo of sorts. From there you roll the weight up and down. That should develop your wrists fine.

pinch grips with a plate. Farmers walk. Wrist curls. Static BB holds with as much weight as possible. Go to bodybuilding.com and look up exercises for wrists, you'll find some basic instructions on a lot of good exercises.

If you want to do it with weights, you can sit down with your forearms resting on your legs. Have your wrists just hanging over your knees. Pick up a bar and curl your wrists into yourself without moving the rest of your arms. This hurts like a *****, but it will get your forarms nice and strong.

Wrist rolls and wrist curls with dumbell weights is good. Also gripping exercises, like you do with a ball, or grip exerciser are very good.
The use of handwraps under your sparring or bag gloves is recommended.

well you could get a punching bag to practice on,or you could get wrist weights to wear,or you could just simply train with a sword for some time.I think those should build up the wrists.
