If you want to put it on an MP3 player, all you need to do is make a folder, say, on the desktop and then drag the files out of ITunes into that folder. I believe they'll become an MP3 file. I've done something like this with my MP3 player using ITunes. You'd then have them in a format that would be playable in Windows Media Player.

windows media player 11 can now convert music files into mp3 files...

I like a piece of software called "Audacity" best, but if you've ripped music from CD with iTunes using m4a files it can't read those.
