2 opposing walls in medium grey, and the other 2 opposing walls in fire-engine red. Add a rug in a tan or yellowish colour and finish off with cushions in white, red, and tan. Add mirrors to walls to create space if you want but definitely add wooden carvings done in walnut colour onto the red walls.

Tell you what I just did in my bedroom, and it has turned out to be scrumptious! I took floor to ceiling length black sheers, and hung them on brushed nickel rods, all the way around the room! It is really dramatic, and, due to a sale, ended up costing me less than it would if I paid for the room to be painted. I decorated the rest of the room in black and white, with red accents, and I couldn't be happier. But, considering your sectionals are already black, this is what I'd do: Paint your walls white, but keep your decorating palate black and white, with red accents. I repeated the brushed nickel here and there on mirror and picture frames, and furniture pulls. It looks great. Sometimes less is more, and I have found this simplistic theme to be a whole lot more than I ever expected. You can use black and white zebra prints for a trendy look, or black and white toile for a french country feel, or even plaids and ginghams for more of a country decor. This is easy, and you'll look like you hired a decorator! Have fun.

Black really goes with anything.
What are your fave colors? What colors make you say wow?
paint walls black and have curtains, pillows and accessories white. Have lots of lighting though. White paper lanterns would look cute and sensual.
Pale: blue or green with matching accessories.
Really black is cool to match----pick the color you like and go for it.
Or you can to to Lowes or Home Depot, get a few color cards and place them one the couch to see what colors you like best. I did that with my daughters room.

Try a neutral color such as a taupe or a warm tan. You can accent the room with a colorful area rug and pillows on the sofa. That way you can change your look just by changing the accessories.

I have a friend who has a black couch and he painted his walls red. He then hung four, tall, narrow mirrors on one section of his wall and his place looks great!

i think a rich yellow color would be nice. It makes the room look luminous. This is a warm color (not a cool color like blue green or purple, which can make the room feel uninviting)

Light green or sea-foam green colors help the flow of thinking and percepting/flow of conversation/absorbtion of information/helps relax. That might also go well with your black couches.
