just declare a truce. First let’s talk about the atheists. Ok atheists, maybe Christian’s beliefs are really stupid and maybe they have no scientific proof to back up those beliefs. Who cares what they believe as long as they aren’t hurting anyone or forcibly shoving their beliefs down your throat. Remember that although they have no proof that God exists, you have no proof that God does not exist. And as for Christians, just accept that not everyone is going to agree with you. You may not like it when atheists denounce your beliefs, but atheists hate it equally as much when you try and force your beliefs down their throat. Enough with threatening people that they will go to Hell if they don’t convert. Threats do nothing but piss people off. Just get along people.

The trouble with Christianity and other religions is that it is hurting people. Religion, as a whole, has done more harm than any other system of belief. For a good overview of this, read Sam Harris' book, "The End of Faith".

We really have to get past reliance on superstition for our moral values. Too many wars, too much intolerance, and too much promotion of ignorance have been spurned on by religion.

I am not at war with anyone so a truce is not necessary.

I do not feel offense when someone attacks my belief. I feel pity.

I do not force my beliefs down anyone's throat. I inform.

I do not threaten that people will go to Hell if they don't convert. I warn.

My sincere desire is that someone will take a moment to evaluate their spiritual condition and make the right decision.

However, if they do not I am not angry about it. I feel regret I suppose because I know that one day I will see them again and that it will not be a pleasant situation. Then again, since I have warned them, I do not have to worry about having their blood on my hands.

This is one of the reasons that Christians should be out there shaking the bushes so to speak. If we have an opportunity to tell someone about the fate that awaits them if they do not repent and DON'T then we will have to account for that on judgment day.

"Who cares what they believe as long as they aren’t hurting anyone or forcibly shoving their beliefs down your throat."

THAT IS WHAT THEY ARE DOING. They are creating an entire generation of ignroant children because modern science is a threat to their belief.

Did you know that of 140+ countries polled for their understanding of biology and evolution America posted second to last?!

Since the increase of evangelism in the US since the 50's, the average test scores of the united stated citizen has been in steady decline!

Exactly what I think. Unfortunately, there are extremists in every belief system and what is even more unfortunate is they happen to be the loudest speakers for that belief system. I think in most places though, Christians and atheists get along just fine (at least from what I've seen where I live).

"Who cares what they believe as long as they aren’t hurting anyone or forcibly shoving their beliefs down your throat. "

They're hurting plenty of people. For example, they're largely to blame for the fact that Bush is U.S. President.

"Remember that although they have no proof that God exists, you have no proof that God does not exist."

Google "burden of proof", read what you find, and never make this stupid comment again.

The only problem is that you have christians running around killing people and blowing things up because they think the bible tells them to.

The Christians goal is to pillage hell to populate heaven. We just can't bear to see people we love go to hell. We have to accept and love atheists as people but its hard to accept their eternal destination.
