I've got respect for the buddhists, muslims, hindus, mormons, etc, even if I don't agree with them. Whenever I ask a question of these other religious groups, I get thorough, informative answers for the most part. From the christians I mostly get abuse (though not all). Is it because they constantly try to force their beliefs on society, or because they are so pompous about it, or for another reason? Why do we go after the christians with such fervour?
Not that it isn't fun, mind you.....

Buddhists, Hindus, Muslims and Jews don't shove their beliefs in my face. I have never had any of those people tell me (with delight) that I am going to hell and that I must convert to their religion. On the other hand, I hear those statements daily from Christians -- those who profess to have a beautiful relationship with a loving saviour, but yet the vile intolerance and bigotry can be astounding. (You don't really need me to post Jerry Falwell's hateful rhetoric, do you?)
If people would not force their religion on others, then there would be no need for a reaction.

I think because mosts atheists in America started being christians or came from parents who are christians.
Christianity based on Dogma . Trinity is a dogma , take it or leave it . Jesus is God, you have to believe it .
Yet : Islam , Budhism, Hindusm , Taoism, maybe Mormonism too ( I have no knowledge at all about Mormon's) are religion as well as way and philosophy of life which can be explained with logic.
Anything you can explain with logic is nice ( not so much fun tho) because it allows difference of opinions.
Any discussion with no logic is tiring but could be fun and laughed at. But...excuse ...waste of energy, might as well watch Tom and Jerry or Winny the pooh.
Faith is an inner journey anyway,.....I believe to find the truth we have to travel in the realm of the Great Void. Iam a muslim by choice and through inner search .
I dont want to interfere what other people like to believe, everybody has their own mind and intelect to choose their faith.

fairly no, i locate that atheists %. on Christianity in particular. I even have on no account heard an atheist remark on a particular sect. i locate those debates to take place between different Christians. Atheists are against the common concept of Christianity that all and sundry Christians share, the belief of there being an all-valuable god that controls each and every thing. additionally, i think of that Atheists are extra distinctive than Christians. while Christians all believe in God and the actuality that Jesus, his son, got here to earth to lead human beings, atheists have not have been given any particular regulations. consequently atheists are as distinctive because of the fact the distinctive scientific theories that embody the universe. Atheists even have not got a bible or a particular set of morals to maintain on with. each and every person shares a different set of virtues to lead them, and that i'm specific that those ideals are as lots, if not extra, distinctive than Christian ideals.

All of the reasons you mentioned. It doesn't seem quite fair to go after the religions that are not well represented, and the Christians, are frequently saying they have some proof of their god, or they have the only truth. How could you not jump on that.

One of the reasons is that christians make the loudest claims, yes. More than that is that the claims they make are that much more absurd and obviously untenable than that of other religions. Add to that the comical way in which so many of them regurgitate these untenable claims without a second's thought, and it's just too inviting, isn't it?

I find it strange how no one realizes that almost EVERY group forces it's beliefs on other people. I've had Buddhists, Atheists, JWs, Mormons, Muslims, etc try to convert me. so calm down. everyone does it.

Well they want so badly to deny the real science that is out there and that makes them sound silly.
Secondly, they reinforce this behavior to each other to the point that they are so willing to say these silly things out loud and in public that they make themselves easy targets.
