Many people read the Bible books in the order in which they are customarily printed, from Genesis through Revelation. You could also read them in the order in which they were originally written. Keep in mind that the Bible is a collection of 66 inspired books, a divine library. For variety, you may want to read some of the books that feature history, then some that are strongly prophetic, followed by some that are letters of counsel, instead of simply following the page order. Keep track of what you have read, and be sure to read the entire Bible.

Luke, or maybe John. Matthew is very good too. Actually any of the Gospels. You should read about and try to understand Jesus and then get to the rest of the Bible. If possible use a modern version like NIV. The King James is like reading Shakespeare.

Start with ANY of the Gospels.
And anything written by Paul is among the mist beautiful writing in history.
The book of acts or the book of Revelations is also great.
If starting out, I would just pick any of the Gospels.
God bless.

A lot people become saved by reading John . Another
important part would be to buy yourself a good study Bible
to read and lead you to a better understand of what you are
reading . The first and most important thing to due just
before you start to read the Bible, is to ask God to reveal His
Truth to you and fill you with the Holy Spirit . Remember this is
Gods living word to us and should be treated as the most
important thing in your life !! because with out it is certain death... May God Fill You with His Saving Grace ..... amen

A book in the New Testament would be good, since the Bible (aka "The Good Book") is a Christian work & since the New Testament talks about Jesus the Christ.

A great book to start with is the book of Acts. It is where the first church was started.
My opinion, read one of the Gospels first like Matthew then skip over to Acts.

I think John is one of the best books in the Bible. It is more or less all of christianity in one long continuous love letter.

If you have never read the Bible before, I usually suggest people start with the book of Mark, since its the shortest of the biographies of Jesus.
Then I'd suggest Galatians, since it has the gospel as well as warnings about the largest false cults.
After that ask me.

The book of 1 John was the one that I loved studying. John who was "the disciple that Jesus loved" explains in simple and practical terms what it means to have fellowship with God. John the apostle walked and talked with Jesus, saw him heal, heard him teach, watched him die, met him arisen and saw him ascend. John knew God - he had lived with him and had seen him work.
Great study material!
