Lets say 2 boys are hangin' out. One of them (lets call himChris) has an extremely annoying habit of tickling (lets call him Norm) in the neck with a feather.
Would it really be......you see where I'm going..

Sure candice it does work both ways. But i posted this after seeing someone call a church, the brainwashing area. And many Christians responded harshly of course, saying anger never did any good.....bla bla
Its not right to cheaply assault someone's "thing" be it religious or other, but saying the word brainwashing implies thought control, NO freedom of thought or speach. Something which Christians also deal with daily im sure.
They could understand the atheists "problem" and address it directly. Instead of pointing out the rudeness....

*laughs* I see your point. On the one hand I can see why Norm would get very annoyed if anyone even brandished a feather at him (and this needn't apply to just atheists). On the other hand if Norm really doesn't like getting poked with feathers, maybe he should avoid, say, going into tickling bulletin boards and inviting people to feather him. Most Christians don't immediately assault you with feathers upon meeting you, and as for the ones that do, if Norm tells them to leave him alone and they don't, it's their own fault if he gets hostile. If they just innocently asking how he feels about being tickled, then he needn't blow up on them.
And stratocaster. Before you throw insults around at others being too stupid to use the internet, maybe you should check and see if you actually understand the content being discussed. The poster was justifying athiests for getting pissed off when Christians try to convert them (as you evidently missed the subtext.) You make yourself look like an ass (or at the least a 14-year-old boy) when you start telling people they're too stupid to use the internet without knowing what the grown-ups are talking about.

Well, I can understand someone possibly needing to be a little blunt with someone of another faith, if their ideas are unwanted, and the person continues to badger them with their ideas. But as far as on Answers, although it is rare, alot of people ARE asking a question wanting a real answer. Some of them are not badgering anyone. Yet people still answer it specifically to bash the asker about their ideas. If they have no interest in actually answering the question, then why even click on it in the first place. And then you have people who specifically ask a question for the sole purpose to get an argument started. It's all a little childish if you think about it. No one is going to change anyones beleifs this way, so just accept the fact that other's have different opinions on what is truth to them, and move on. It's fine to share your ideas if asked, but at least do it in a respectful way.It is people of every faith on R&S who do this. I don't even hang out in that section any more, because it is rare to actually see a question that is wanting a real answer. It's a silly war of beleifs. And no one is right. I do have respect for the people who get on there and take it seriously though, and who have respect for the fact that other's views may differ from their own. If someone's beleifs are bringing them joy in their life, and they are happy without searching anywhere else, then just let them be.

Well, you really danced all the way around the bush with this one. Yes, Norm the atheist would get annoyed with Chris the Christian. But, what if Norm had a habit of poking Chris in the eye....see where I'm going with this? LOL. I think it works both ways. :)

Nope. Don't see where you're going.
I don't buy into the Christian God, but I can still treat people like people. There really isn't much excuse for anyone to be rude and obnoxious, unless they are mentally deficient, or a very small child.
Norm needs less annoying friends.

No...... I'm not sure where you are going. Is Chris getting "fresh" with Norm?? Maybe Norm should set clearer boundaries in thier relationship. Maybe Chris needs to get it over with and come on out of that closet.

much depends on the intent
tickling is fine
if more was taken then the foot needs to be planted firmly
some people are so shy for them to touch some one makes the friend real [for them]
it isnt acceptable behavious as such , but it is only a tickle
girls can do it and feel comfortable [not gay ] doing it
but we men are conflicted thinking it gay
or a come on '
learn there is a line [and if it gets crossed then draw it firmly]

Please do not use the internet. I'm afraid if you do, your low IQ may rub off on others.
How about religious people as rude and obnoxious?
Do you see athiests coming to your door every day selling stuff? Do you see athiests over in Ethiopia, telling starving people that if they don't become athiests they'll go to hell? No fuckin way.
All wars have religion in them somewhere.
Religious people try to brainwash the world.
If you are a semi-intelligent being, you'll realize that religious people are about 10x more rude and obnoxious. Arguing on the internet is one thing, but religious people are the ones that kill first born sons, commit genocide, and try to take everyone down with them in the name of Allah. Religion is bullshit, face it.
