Last year, I faced a major skin issue. I used to get alot of pimples and I popped them (ashamed). I overcame it but was left with dark spots on my face as a souvenir. My dermatologist said to give it time but it's already been almost a year. How do I get rid of it? I am desperate and need help. I tried looking up search engines but am unsure to buy things because I don't know if they are truly effective, Are there any REALLY good products that I can use? I need quick results. I want my face clear by September 2007 when I enter college. I need guidance people please please help. It will be much appreciated. Thanx!

Anny,

You have no idea how common this problem is (very!!!). It is one manifestation of obsessive compulsive disorder and a good therapist can help control it.

About the dark spots. Some people are luckier than others and they heal well. You have hyperpigmentation as a result of the stress of the pimples, and it may have happen even without you touching them because some people "scar" with hyperpigmentation.

What can you do now? I can give some suggestions but I am not sure whether they will work for you. Skin lighteners work by inhibiting melanin synthesis, which is more intense in the dark spots. AVOID hydroquinone, because it may result in even more hyperpigmentation (you have to assume that other stress to your skin will also result in hyperpigmentation and hydroquinone is stress!). You can't try a chemical peel or laser treatment, because in your case these treatments are likely to backfire.

I would try sea kelp bioferment (good for healing), arbutin, liquorice and some other skin lighteners. You will have to be patient.

Regarding college, let me remind you that whatever skin you may have by then, it is really hard to concentrate in skin defects when you see a luminous smile. So get ready your smile and you will be fine.

Good luck and best wishes

Hannah

You can try to use the following method to heal fast.

* Cleanse your face with mild Miho Bio foam
* Do daily Facial pack mask for a week and alternate day after a week. Be consistent in doing the mask. Rinse off the mask after 10 minutes and put on Miho skin lotion to close the pores
* Then you apply Miho White Essence which would lighten the dark spots. It contains Chlorella Polysacchride and has the feature to whiten, moisturising, effective for blemishes.
* If possible keep a bottle of Miho Spot Touch in case of any new pimples which would pop up.

I am a Mary Kay Beauty Consultant. I had the same problem and I use the Timewise Even Complexion Essence. Clinically shown to restore skin’s natural, even tone by helping reduce visible dark spots and reverse skin discoloration. I hope this helps you. I would also suggest Timewise Microdermabrasion set. Fight fine lines, refine pores and achieve beautifully smooth skin – immediately – with this simple, two-step set. It also takes the dead skin cells off helping your skin rejuvenate faster and the dark spots will fade faster.

Four Steps

You need a scrub to take away the dead skin and reduce the dark spots.

Next, you need to clean your face with a toner to detoxify your skin from residue and bacteria.

Then, you need tea tree oil to wipe out the bacteria that causes pimples plus moisturize skin.

Lastly, use the vitamin C at night instead of the tea tree to help fade scaring more rapidly.

Ambi is a good fade creme for blemishes. If you have bumps right now I suggest using Neutrogena Rapid Clear but don't over use it because it will over dry your skin. For your hair I really like Bio-Silk hair or Chi products. If these are not available where you live then try Organic Root Stimulator Olive Oil products by Namaste' Laboratories. The bottles are green. These are all really good products.

!!! you will love this forum; all I have to say is LEMON JUICE ...and it works in a matter of days/weeks...the natural route seems like the only way to go for me. I have tried so many different products. It's all about cleansing internally and using the right stuff for your face. Drinking distilled water has helped me out tremendously as well :)

Your best bet is to go to a salon that does cleansing facials. A glycolic acid peel will help rejuvinate and stimulate new cell growth. But its important to talk with a PROFESSIONAL for something like this so go to someone reputable.

You can try these home remedies to remove tan & lighten skin:

Mix 1 table spoon of milk powder, 1 table spoon of honey, 1 table spoon of lemon juice, and ½ table spoon of almond oil. Apply on face and wash off after 10-15 minutes. This pack helps bring shine to the skin and also removes tan.

Mix oatmeal with curd and tomato juice and apply on the face. Keep it on for 20 minutes and then wash it off with cold water. It helps remove the tan and lightens the skin.

Place sliced raw potato on the face. It helps reduce blemishes and other marks.

Applying turmeric powder along with lime juice removes the tan. Lime juice is natural bleach.

Dried orange peels mixed with curd also help reduce blemishes and scars. Wash off this mixture with cold water after 15 minutes.

Soak 4 almonds overnight. Grind into a fine paste using milk. Apply on face and neck and leave it overnight. Wash with cold water in the morning. Do this daily for 15 days, followed by twice a week.

A table spoon of gram flour mixed with 2 table spoon of raw milk and 2-3 drops of lime juice works well for lightening dark skin. Apply this mixture and leave it for 15 minutes before washing off. Repeat for 4 weeks and follow up with once a week.

Apply a paste of fresh ground mint leaves and leave it for about 20 minutes. Wash with cold water, continue for 15 days.

Apply a mixture of grated tomato with 2-3 drops of lime juice on the face. Leave it for 20 minutes before washing off. Do this twice a day for 15-20 days for best results.
