The pressure to recruit is felt by everyone in that position.
One should expect better from the USA.

"Despite the Army's slick recruiting ads, top brass have known for some time that, as recruiters face increasing pressure to recruit, some also feel increasing pressure to cheat."

"Two years ago, the Army ordered a day-long recruiting stand-down after numerous allegations of misconduct."

My son was recruited by an exceptional, honorable recruiter. I have worked with both good and bad recruiters for the past 8 years.. and really don't see a difference between their pre-war activities and their current activities. I mean, none at all.

I am a juvenile probation officer who assists juveniles who want to join the military... I'm also the mom of a high school senior and active with 150 students in the high school band. So, I work closely with students, juvenile delinquents, and the recruiters in our area.

Some recruiters are good guys, and ethical. Some are not. Just keep your eyes open, and confirm everything they tell you until they've proven they're trustworthy. Once folks get ahold of a good recruiter they should lean on their knowledge and expertise to navigate their enlistment process and the visits to MEPS. The folks there aren't at all invested in long-term success of recruits... Good recruiters are.

Your little prompt reveals that some recruiters have developed their own style of recruiting, some of it crosses the line of honesty, integrity, and what's really good for the army.

The army, upon becoming aware of this has investigated, and will continue to investigate, in order to corral those who don't follow procedure. I applaud the army's integrity in this matter, and realize the difficulty in policing an organization the size of the UA Army.

As a current Army recuiter it makes me sick to see those recruiters. We are all under prrssure to make mission, but to lie and cheat is unnacceptable. We as soldiers, and as experienced soldiers are supposed to live by the Army Values. Those three soldiers chose not to, and will be punished appropriatley. Trust me when I say that they are not a good representaion of our Army or of the recruiting force.

Please keep in mind that those three recruiters are not at all representative of the recruiting force in general. 99% of recruiters in all branches are honest, loyal, courageous, and dedicated to their duty to recruit the best military we can.

Those who are crooked, were crooked before they became recruiters, even before they joined the military. They are not worthy of the uniform.
