Well........
I was going to let my daughter keep her bedtime bottle until she was ready to give it up. we gradually weaned down one bottle at a time until the only one left was the bedtime one. But 3 days after her 1st birthday she fell and bit her tongue really bad. she could not drink out of her bottle anymore. only her non-valve sippy cups. (like the tupperware ones) so by the time her tongue was healed, she forgot all about the bottle. She has been a cup baby ever since.
but I would not recommend my method to anyone.......it was so sad.
she did this "milk strike" thing for about 3 days where she would not drink any milk at all. My MIL told me to put strawberry quick in her milk.......no way. I just waited it out. she eventally gave up and drank it. also, I gave her milk with her meals.......food made her pretty thirsty and she was much more likely to drink her milk. she now drinks her 20oz of milk per day and she has not seen a bottle in weeks. she gets juice with breakfast and milk with dinner and 2 snacks. (morning and bedtime). she does great. The rest of the day she gets water or water/juice mix.
good luck!!

Well, we just finished up bottle use with our son... it's been 10 days now, and he will be 2 in a month! We waited awhile because we sensed that he wasn't ready, but his interest peaked on real cups in the past month, and we just put the bottles away and he went to strictly sippies and cups with a straw with no problem at all!

If your daughter is not wanting to eat or drink, she might just be going through a phase, these things happen every once in a while... just keep on offering and she will come around- good luck!!

My son was off the bottle before he turned 1. He just turned 2, and he'll only drink chocolate milk. I only add enough to give it a little taste.

I don't know about your daughter not wanting to eat anything. Do you really mean she won't eat anything, or is she just getting picky about what she will eat. If it's serious enough, I'd take her to the doctor.

My daughter stopped the bottle at 13 months old. I did not have any problem with her on this. Now the "no eating" situation I have plenty experience with. My child will go through "stages" where she will eat practically nothing for 2-4 days. And then out from nowhere, she will turn into a little "piglett" and each me out of house and home. I have been assured by many mothers that this is normal behavior, so over time I have learned to chill out over this.

well my daughter is 2 and i'm still trying to get her to stop drinking milk in a bottle. so far she will use a sippy cup every other time except when she goes to bed. i don't let her use the bottle during the day anymore. good luck

I stopped the bottle when my son was just under 2yrs of age.
if your daughter isn't eating anything , perhaps an appt at the doctors would be a good start to find out why*
best of luck*

I think i stopped with the bottle when she was 18-20 months?? I think. My 3 year old does the same thing. for a few days she's not hungry at all.. I'll make her take a bite and she'll gag on it. next week she'll pig out. My doctor says its just a phase, offer her the food you know she likes. If you are REALLY concerned go talk to your doctor.
