The basic format for a report is:

1. A couple paragraphs about what the report contains.
2. The contents of the report.
3. A couple paragraphs summarizing the contents

The couple of introductory paragraphs should set the stage for the rest of the report. For example:

"This report is based on research conducted in march 2007 with 26 children aged 7 to 10. As we conducted the research, we found that children would respond, etc, etc."

In the main body of the report, list exactly what you did, the types of tests that were conducted and the results you recorded. At the end of the main body, provide some analysis. For example:

"Children who were shown the flash application for only five seconds were only 46 percent successful in remembering the information. Each additional second the children were exposed to the information led to an five-to-eight percent increase in information retention, culminating with 98 percent of the children remembering the information after a 15-second exposure. This shows that almost all children could use this flash application for learning, if the time settings are set appropriately."

At the end of your report, wrap up your findings in two short paragraphs. Your teacher will appreciate it if you keep things short and concise.

Good luck!
