Well if your a teen you probably won't like this but the best age is when you are totally and I mean totally sure that you can deal with the consequences of sex. Yes it's a great experience to have with someone you love....but it comes with lots of possible problems. I'm sure that you already know all of those, but you honestly have to be certain that you are prepared for what could happen....for instance I'm married, my husband has a vastecomy so that he can't have kids until we were ready ( he already has kids from preivous marriage) I became pregnant......So if your a teen you may think your being careful but you also have to be sure that you are totally ready to deal with things in case the world deals you a hand that you weren't prepared for. On the other hand in most situations I believe MOST but not all 16 or 17 are mentally ready and understand that sex can change there life.

Well, first let me start off by saying that we need better sex education in schools. Far too often parents don't want their children to know that while sex can have repercussions, it is also very rewarding. In 7th grade, we got a three week sex education class in the middle of health class. They didn't cover condoms, but rather the risks of having sex, not how to do it safely. After the three weeks, they gave us a fake plastic baby for the weekend to scare us out of sex.
At that time, there was already one girl in my class who couldn't take a baby home; she already had a 4 month old to take care of. At 13, she had already had a child.
And my graduating class of 250 students has 63 teenage mothers, 9 of which either graduated while pregnant with their second, or already had their second child. That's roughly 1/5 of my highschool class who has children.
Sex happens. Teens are curious about their bodies, the bodies of their friends, and the bodies of those they like.
That's not to say teenagers shouldn't have sex. I know that most teenagers, at least where I live, have had sex. Guys more often than girls. There is nothing wrong with sex, and while I wouldn't want my (future) children engaging in sex at age 14/15/16, I know it's likely, and I want them INFORMED.

Honestly, I would say not to have sex as a teenager, but I know that is not real life! All I can say is there is no RIGHT age to have sex. Wait until you are sure it is something you are ready to deal with! Sex especially in a young teen can be emotionally troubling.

There is no "best" age for teens to have sex--actually they shouldn't be having sex in the first place! Isn't it better to abstain from having sex and wait until you are a responsible adult?

The absolute BEST time to have sex is when you're married, it makes the honeymoon a lil more suprising and exciting. PLUS there has actually been research that the best sex comes from married relationships.
