For the past few nights I have had recurring dreams involving tornadoes. My first dream was a water spout. I have always been told to go to my closet in my room if there was a tornado, in my dream I am yelling at my family to come get into the closet and they are taking their time telling me, "don't worry we'll be there in a second." The water spout passes calmly through, like being underwater but moments later a dark tornado comes ripping through the house and I wake up. Again last night I had a similar dream only the tornado was coming my way as I was trying to close my closet door, and I woke up. When I dream about tornadoes they are the only dreams I die in as well. I can get shot, stabbed, whatever in any other dream but never die. What do these dreams mean?

I've had tornado dreams for years and years. I don't think they mean anything necessarily, because I've had them when I was going through happy times, depressed times, exciting times, boring times, had them when I was living abroad, after I moved, after my parents divorced, during healthy relationships, during breakups.....
I'm fascinated by tornados, so I dream about them. I don't think there's any point in trying to analyze them.

Dreaming of clear water is a sign that you're in a good space and things will go your way for a while. However, a dream of muddy water may foretell sadness through hearing of an illness of someone that you know well. Dirty water means you may want to look out for people in your life who will betray you. Long story short, all water dreams, other than clear, have warnings connected to them and should be studied carefully with the other symbols in your dream. Try to draw parallels and see what you subconcious is warning you about.
Dreaming of or seeing a tornado in your dream is considered by many to be under the catagory 'apocalyptic dreams'. This means that you are dreaming of seeing the end of the world, or at least the end of your world. This may leave you unsure of yourself when you wake up, due to the magnitude of the dream and the fact that usually you are totally alone by the end of one. What triggers these dreams? Sometimes a death, divorce or other significant event has happened to you recently that has changed the 'world' you live in. You may also have a feeling of 'the world is against you' in the waking hours. In any event, be thankful that you are working through these major obstacles in your sleep so that you will continue to feel stronger in your daily life.

they could be symbolic to a situation going on in your life. it might not have anything to do with a tornado or dieing. I have dreams a lot about things that happen or could happen. possible fates. Sometimes the dreams can have people represented by other things. maybe an animal. possibly even a tornado. if I had more info about your situation I may be able to decipher your dream. I've done so for people in the past. you can e-mail me if you'd like. just go on my profile and get my address.
Dreams are a confusion of the conscious mind when the subconscious mind tries to communicate with it. your sub conscious mind is more aware of whats going on and is all around honest. however your conscious mind isn't. that's why your conscious mind becomes confused and interprets everything differently and unbalanced.
your "tornado" could be either a person of a situation. this could effect your family and your self. how much information your conscious mind can interpret depends on many things. I can explain more if you wish to e-mail me.
basically... its like your conscious mind and subconscious mind communicating in different languages. example...
subconscious : soon you will be with a wonderful person and you'll live happily ever after.
conscious : you see your self riding a beautiful unicore through the forest endlessly into a bright beautiful day. you smile when you see gloriose sun rays shining through the trees.

yep i have dreamed of tornadoes too ,to see a tornado in your dream, suggests that you are experiencing some extreme emotional outbursts and temper tantrums. Is there a situation or relationship in your life that may be potentially destructive, and if you see several tornadoes in your dream, represent people around you who are prone to violent outbursts and shifting mood swings. It may also symbolize a volatile situation or relationship also you are in a tornado, signifies that you are feeling overwhelmed and out of control. You will be met with a series of disappointments in the few weeks after you had the dream you might though also your plans will be filled with complications.

This is probably a combination of watching the news about current tornadoes, and your life being in upheaval. Are there issues in your life you feel you cannot resolve? Are there people in your life that are always in trouble that you feel responsible for? Tornadoes are dark, for-boding, and unpredictable, and leave terrible destruction in their wake. To dream about them is to reveal a certain vulnerability within yourself, or to realize you are inadequate to handle a situation on your own.

Wow... This is really interesting. I was really intrigued by your question because I too, have had tornado dreams. I thought I was the only one and always wondered what these meant and tried to come up with an answer on my own
In my feeble attempts to analyze them, I concluded that I was afraid of something out of my control, that I am anxious about disasters (literally and figuratively)
Maybe you fear something out of your control? Maybe it somehow mean you feel helpless and confused and want to give up on something?
I am by far no dream expert, so you can completely ignore my analysis. I am just surprised to find someone else with similar dreams.
